Even though people were already lining up for the parade, we managed to find a spot in Liberty Square with hardly anyone lined up. After a little while, we began to realize why nobody seemed to be sitting there- no shade! This was the only time of the day I remember ever feeling hot. It was a nice view though, so we stuck it out.
After a while, some clouds finally blew in and blocked out the sun a little, which helped greatly (and made for a lovely photo).
Because the parade stepped off on Main Street, it took about 20 minutes to reach us in Liberty Square. A bit of a wait , but still not quite as long as the wait for Pixie Hollow this morning. This was our first time seeing the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade. True, we had seen it back when it was Share A Dream Come True years ago when it had the Snow Globes still on the floats, but since the floats were redesigned, the music was new and the character line-up was slightly different, it was still somewhat of a new experience, Id say.
Pluto came along giving high fives. Between the Magic Kingdom and Cape May, Pluto was the member of the Fab Five that Buzz missed getting to meet on this trip. He did get a high five though, so that should count for something.
Some celebration dancers. Their costumes remind me so much of the costumes the dancers would wear in the Disney parades in the 80s back when I was a kid.
Mickey and Minnie in their own celebration garb.
Pinocchio with his conscience standing in the shadows.
Normally I wouldnt post a picture like this since I dont think its very good, but Ill make an exception since theres a bit of a story to go behind it. Snow White and her Prince were two of the characters I was most hoping to get a photo of in the parade since The Prince was new to it since I last saw it. I had a great shot of them all composed, but as soon as I took the picture, they both moved, resulting in this somewhat blury and poorly composed shot.
Taking parade pictures can be frustrating sometimes.
Abu! Its nice to see Disney bring this guy out more. Ive heard complaints that he looks pretty creepy-looking, but I dont think hes too bad.
Aladdin.
Im really happy that Berts been added to the parade too- and in his lesser-seen chimney sweep attire no less.
The Neverland and Wonderland characters seem a pretty good match. I find Alice and Wendy together amusing. They have so much in common.
Break out the ribbons, its time for the show stop!
The Peter Pan/ Alice float stopped right in front of us, so we didnt really have any character or dancers do their show near us. We did get to see the carousel of little characters on the float in action. If you look closely, you can see the Cheshire Cat and Mushu going around the castle
Even though Peter was practically right in front of us, he and Wendy did their whole routine to the crowd on the left and never turned to the crowd on their right. Odd.
The Mad Hatter and Alice during the big finish.
When the parade started moving again, Anastasia spotted me taking pictures and remembered me from that morning. She stuck around a bit to find out if Buzz was the brother I told them about and how my birthday was going.
After our little chat, Anastasia had to leave and catch up with the rest of the Tremaines who seemed perturbed because they found her running to lack essential grace or poise. Anastasia certainly seems to be turning into the new rebel of the family (and actually, with a family like the Tremaines, that might not be such a bad thing).
Behind the Tremaines came the royals of the Kingdom- Prince Charming and Cinderella.
Belle.
Prince Eric and Ariel who seems to have changed back from mermaid to human for the occasion.
Finally, it was time for the big finale- the Castle float. Theyve been using this float for years and years. I can remember being a kid and seeing the characters from Robin Hood and the Gummi Bears coming down the street in it.
Goofy and Donald.
I really enjoyed Celebrate A Dream Come True- even more, I think than the original version or it. This one was just so bright and festive and had a bunch of great characters in it. Glad we got a chance to see it.
