3 ten year olds

Question for you all. I'm traveling with 3 ten year old boys. All good swimmers. Would you let them go off and do the slides on their own at the water parks? Us adults will be at the park and go on some slides ...just want to know if you guys think they would be ok together on their own? Are there lifeguards everywhere???

No, I would not let them go off on their own.

10 year old boys are impulsive and daring creatures, ...multiply that by 3!
(And accidents in water can easily turn tragic.)

Yes, I would let them, no problem. We let our kids roam last year, when they were 12 (just turned) and 8 year old twins (weeks away from being 9). They are all strong swimmers and none of the areas they were going in had water deep enough to really get them in trouble. The only thing I didn't let them do on their own is the TL wave pool, because of how strong the waves are. That water can be deep if you go out far enough and the waves are killer. But even for that, I let my boys (my daughter was too scared) go out on their own, but I was standing 5' behind them in clear sight.

Yes, if I believed the kids to be good swimmers, I would allow them to go off as a group of three. They should promise to stay together, be able to tell you what to do in an emergency, and appear for intermittent, scheduled check-ins with you.

There are lifeguards. Let them enjoy some freedom!

yes that is what i was thinking ...no wave pool alone..and yes we have a strict check in policy and stay together policy for other things we do. They know if they mess that up that will be then end of their freedom! thanks!

Wave pool has lots of lifeguards. My kids did the wave pool at that age.

I was a mess, but it was good for them.

I would, but I would be where I could keep an eye on them. I wouldn't rely on the lifeguards, who each had a lot of kids to watch. I wouldn't set them loose and go somewhere else.

Like others, I would let them do it - but there would be checkins regularly - you can go ride slides x and y - then you must check in. First missed checkin would be lost privileges for a little while.
