3 quiet nights for visiting WDW

Main purpose of my visit would be Pandora. And I believe FOP is inside so I don't mind riding that over and over and over if crowds have dispersed because of rain.

And so would everyone else - so there would be even longer queues, sadly. The crowds go to the inside attractions.

even with the hurrican there is stops in the rain unless the eye is close by or over Disney and if that the case more then likley Disney will close ( I have heard they will keep the park open if a cat 1 hit but do not know for sure) even then it is usually 12- 14 hours of rain and you have a great chance of that being overnight and for about 12 hours before you get a lot of off and on rain so in all it is just 24 hours with 3 days not likely to ruin all 3 days and when a hurricane comes Disney( exspashily if Disney close) get even quieter like a ghost town

Except I wasn't talking about hurricanes specifically - just the big storms that blow through with lightning, which happens a lot in August/September. We've been stuck under tarps in Adventureland because it wasn't safe to walk across in the puddles when there was lightning. There was even a good lightning strike that hit one of the mountains in Frontierland when we were there (couldn't see which one as we were trapped under cover) and everything was shut down for a bit. After, the crowds were a little bit lower, but not enough to make it a good deal to be there for the time before, stuck without being able to go to any attraction.

I’d choose any weekdays and have a good plan if it’s a busier “low peak” time. We went early December and had a great experience even though I kept reading afterwards people thought it was busier than years past.

There's no way Disney would stay open in a cat 1 hurricane, those can still be deadly.

OP, when I went over Labor Day weekend it was probably the least crowded I've seen the parks in a really long time, and I was there on the weekend. So the week days would probably be even better. If you do go then, try and get to the park very early in the morning and take an afternoon break. It'll be crazy hot in the middle of the day and a lot of thunderstorms and then go back later in the evening.

No OP but good to read your comment as that is what we are looking for next summer (after a cruise out of Port Canaveral before flying home). Wasn't sure if labor day weekend would be busy.

Silly question but if its raining during the day, what do you do for your afternoon break? Like OP we're looking at only a couple days so probably wouldn't leave the park but just looking at options.

We like to go to the room and relax, maybe hang out in the hotel lobby. If you don't want to leave the park doing a sit down lunch with some AC is nice. Afternoon thunderstorms are pretty consistent. It'll be a good time to go to the parks, you'll have a great time.

and 95% of the time when a bad storm hits it only last an hour maybe a little more most people leave the park so if you find a pace to hide then when it passes you are golden. and if the pace you find is an indoor ride line you are even better

OP I would not put too must stress on if it is going to rain yes it will but the park is slower most schools just started ( and most parents do not take their kids out of school the first week ( or few weeks) of school the weather is not perfect ( it will be hot it does rain but the rain is normally an afternoon shower) but the park normally are open longer

Yeah I've been in September in years past and, knock on wood, have always had pretty good luck with mother nature.
