3 questions about AP

Sorry but I'm confused about the ff:

I'm a FL resident and also a Annual Pass Holder. Before I got my AP I used to get PINs 2-3x a year via email and mail (yes, while living in FL). Once I got my AP however these seem to have stopped. Has anyone had this experience?

Also, are FL discounts usually the same as or better than AP discounts or PINs? I had a CM tell me once that PINs are usually not as good as any FL discounts out there, so it doesn't matter that I don't get any PINs. I'm trying to decide whether to renew my AP since we don't go more than 2x a year.

Last, can I book a room for a friend who doesn't live in FL and is not an AP holder, using AP discount? I know I probably can't do it with FL discount?

Many thanks for un-confusing me!

1. I have never received any pins before or after being a passholder.

2. AP discounts are usually a little better than FL discounts (usually very little). Pins I am not sure about but from what I have seen percentage is usually the same as AP rates.

3. The only way to do this is for the room to be in your name and you have to be there at check-in with AP.

I hope this helps.

1) We both have APs and last year I received a 40% off PIN code :confused3

2) Unsure as we aren't FL residents.

3) As Inurdrems9 mentioned, the room needs to be in your name and you have to be there at check-in with your AP

Thanks for both your replies. Regarding booking a room, can I then book 2 rooms using my AP, one for me & family and one for her? Both in my name?

I have received regular pin codes and discount offers by email and snail mail. For the first time this year I received an AP Pin Email giving a bunch of different dates through the year with an AP discount. I ended up using that to book our rooms at BW for the Food & Wine Fest in October!

I have been able to book up to 3 rooms with my AP. One in my name and the other two in other family members names and had them link the reservations together as a traveling party.

Great, thank you. Do you mean you got a Pin to use on different days as what the normal AP holders get? Or that your Pin was for more % off than the published AP discounts?

It was an AP Pin that I received by email giving a bunch of different dates through the year that it was good for. Most of the summer wasn't listed...mainly Spring and Fall Dates with a few in early part of December. The discount was 40% Deluxe, 35% Moderate and 30% Value.
