I have 3 questions if someone out there could answer.

The first one is what is exactly do you do on the excursion "The Golden Eagle Catamaran" I have read the insert that comes with the book, but I'm looking for more details.

The 2nd one is if you had to choose between The St. JohnTrunk Bay Beach Excursion or The 5 Star St. John Snorkel and Beach Adventure which would you choose and why.

My last and probably the stupid question is how early can you get to Port Canveral and they let you inside?

The last time we went we got to port canveral late and it was a madhouse. We also did the St. Thomas Beach Day and did not like the beach because it was so rocky. In St. Marten, we did the French Riveria Beach Day with our kids and enjoyed it, but thought we might try something different.

Thanks once again

When we went in January, the we were told the port opened between 10 and 10:30, most people we asked said 10:30. Hope that helps.

Gates open at the port aroun 10:30.

Golden Eagle Catamaran: Sailing, snorkeling, beach time, water time and party time on the cat. And they make it look like a lot of fun. If we make it back to St. Maartin we will take this trip. Everyone we've spoken to that's been on it loves it.

St. John's: I think we will be going on the one that has the "Leyon Sneed" boat. Have done the barefoot catamaran and that was a very good excursion. Want to make it to Trunk Bay next trip.

In both cases, you will ferry over to St. John. From there, I read that the one that says Beach Adventure acutally begins on the land, so if you choose not to snorkel (ie with little kids) you can hang on the beach. The other one (Leylon Sneed) actually starts and ends in the water. The boat never docks. So if you want to hang on the boat, that would be your option if you don't snorkel.

I am looking into these as well, and this is what I can find so far!

We did "The 5 Star St. John Snorkel and Beach Adventure" on the Leylon Sneed in May 2002. The Leylon Sneed was docked right next to the Magic. From there we cruised over to Trunk Bay. Crew was wonderful, taking pictures of all aboard, giving us a bit of history about St. Thomas and surrounding islands, etc. When you get to Trunk Bay you have 3 options to get off the boat: (1) Dive into the water ala Jacques Cousteau; (2) climb down ladder to get into the water; or (3) take rubber dinghy over to the beach. On the way back they serve drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic). You can purchase snacks (chips, crackers, etc.) on board. You can even purchase digital pictures which they will email you. I think that was about $10-$15 for 3 pictures. This was a very nice excursion. You only spend about 1.5 hours snorkeling once you get to Trunk Bay but we (as well as the other tour guests) found that this was plenty of time. There were a lot of tired kids (including our 3) on our way back. HTH
