Today started at a reasonable time and our lack of a intenary started to cause problems. Whilst out yesterday the arguements started with some of us (ME!) desperate for a rest day, some nagging to get to try the new star tours and Keira still refusing to entertain the idea of a pushchair. Last night I had stopped the arguement and said we would discuss it this morning. So as soon as eyes were open and bellies were full the arguements resumed not helped by the fact the weather was reporting non stop rain for the next 4 days.
So once everyone had had their say and I had refused to drive anybody anywhere it was decided we needed a plan of action to avoid an arguement every morning. It also highlighted that for us the "wing it" approach was never going to work - maybe we all need to know in advance where we are heading everyday!
So as im in charge of now coming up with a plan guess what - The morning was designated a Pool morning!!!. I didnt get in as I was shattered and took the oppurtunity to lie in the sun and sit back and watch the kids and Wayne playing carefree in the pool. They had set up a race on the lilos and Keira was screaming at wayne for not pushing her fast enough! Ben and Dan were by far the quickest as they were determined nothing and noone was going to stop them from getting across that pool first.
It was a lovely few hours and for me It was an important relax time that I felt I needed more than anything!!
After making sandwiches and eating them in the sun beside the pool we decided it was time to go to the premuim outlet mall, the kids were happy as long as we visted the Fudge store!
Keira was complaining that her legs still hurt and how much did she have to walk?? Again she refused a pushchair and determindly walked all round the mall.
We found that there was no real bargains and in fact a lot of things were actually more expensive than back home so we only bought Cameron new trainers and a massive bag of fudge and then headed back to the villa.
Walking back to the car we had the breakthrough I had desperatly wanted to happen Keira asked me to pick her up and i told her she's too big to be carried so she at last accepted she would go in the pushchair and her legs needed a rest. For the rest of the holiday she was happily jumping in and out of the pushchair whenever she needed a rest. Relief was not the word!!
On the drive back the rain that was promised came and boy did it rain, at one point everytime I touched the brakes I was aqua planning to a stop. Scary how much it can rain in just a few minutes.
During this drive we decided we were not going to stop the holiday for a bit of rain but we were going to don the nice yellow ponchos and carry on !! Some were more excited than others to look like a big yellow banana. So being the super brave person I am I drove to Target parked up and then sent Wayne and Ben in the torrential rain to find us all a poncho!!
I sat and watched the other 3 in the nice dry car
When wayne returned with Banana suits for all we headed across the road to Longhorn steakhouse. The management company had reccomended we try this place yesterday so it had a lot to live up too.
I have to say it was an amazing meal and really cheap too. Probably the best steak I have ever tasted and the desserts were huge.
Catering for Keira was not a problem either they bought her her own menu and even talked her through it.
The thing that impressed me the most though was we tipped our server very well and he returned to thank us for it!! He was a super guy who had not been able to do enough for us or the kids and to thank us for the tip was just the icing on the cake we knew we would return here!!
We now have very full stomachs and lightning is illuminating the sky.So we decide to head back to the villa and play a game of Knock out pool and air hockey before bed.
We were all in bed by 10pm.
