I'm skipping my annual trip this year because I have other spending needs right now, but I'm really missing it.

I'm starting to think of a "short" trip for 2019, for Feb 10-14 (Value season), with a 3-day Park Hopper (because the price goes way up for the 4-day). I would get there between 2-3 pm on Sunday and would probably have to be on the DME bus around 9 am Thursday.

My first trip in 1999 (with my sister) was 4 nights, but all my subsequent trips have been 5-7 nights. 3 park days seem like so little time, but my priorities would be doing the New Stuff (Pandora and Toy Story Land). I would want to hold out for a discounted Value room and a decent price on a plane ticket.

I know the Dis will say Do it! And maybe that's what I'm looking for, validation that this is not a crazy idea. But I'd love some feedback: is a short trip "worth it"?

Well, I can't relate to the 3 day but... last summer DH couldn't get much time off. We ended up staying 5 nights & utilizing the a 4-day special ticket (one park per day.) We planned ahead & used our time efficiently (skipping things that weren't favorites.) We ended up really having a great time. It didn't feel as "shortened" as I expected. We went in July & the crowds were surprisingly lighter than we've experienced so that helped us get more in (we usually go near holidays at peak times.) Four days was worth our time, So I say go for it.

We are doing a 3 day park hopper plus in July. I originally wanted 4-5 days but it didn't work out. We are spending a full day at AK, split day MK/HS, water park day, then Epcot that night. Will swim at the resort on our last non park day since our flight isn't until early evening. It's going to be busy but I'm looking forward to it! We don't care about ADRs or watching the shows. Our focus is similar to yours, check out Pandora and the new TS Land. I've got FP booked for most of our big ticket must do rides.

I say go for it! Some Disney is always better than no Disney. Just don't try to cram in too much. Prioritize your favorites, then go from there.

Do it! Just remember there is no way you’ll get to do everything in a short trip, but even with longer trips there is so much to do you still won’t be able to do everything!

I just took a single day trip to DL (we are not locals and had to fly in) and it was a blast. What we did was come up with a list of must-dos, like to dos, and skipables to prioritize our time when we were al the parks. We had a plan to get our must-dos accomplished, filled in time between FPs with like to dos, and left the skipables for some other time.

I know WDW is much more spread out than DL, but you can still get a lot done in a 3 day trip. Pandora and Toy Story Land look like so much fun!

From my first trip as a kid until now with my own kids, none of our trips have been longer than 4 nights/5 days. We’ve always had a great time. You certainly can’t do everything but it leaves more to look forward to next time.

Even a 3 day trip is soooo worth it. Our first family trip was 3 day hoppers (with grandparents) and we had a blast!! With all the new attractions...totally worth it!!
I have also done a single day at MK (during short notice Universal trip) we had so much fun, and we did things we didn't do the previous year. It's amazing how much you can accomplish in 1 day, let alone 3.

I am a huge fan of the short budget Orlando trip. That's usually the length of trip I do. Next year will be a rare full week, mostly because of a family wedding and lots of wedding activities, plus a day trip to visit my favorite cousin in Tampa. So even though my next trip is six days, only three of those will be theme/Orlando attraction related.

I did 2.5 park days Memorial Day weekend and it was SO fun..... But also exhausting.

Edit- 2016 Memorial Weekend

I’ve done two trips that were each 3 day park trips... both were fabulous! Go and have fun and don’t worry about doing everything. You’ll have a blast!

Thanks for all the encouraging responses. It's true, I've been enough times in recent years that I don't feel compelled to "do everything." And I totally agree that any time at WDW is better than no time! :thumbsup2

Most of my trips in the last ten years have been three nights with two park days because that is all I could afford as a single mom wanting to take two kids to Disney. We did two parks total and each trip was amazing! We still talk about the memories made during those short trips. Totally worth it and we even had to drive 7 hours to get there.

I've done it so, yep, I say do it. Park Hoppers make it a little easier because you really can just hit what you want in a park and move on.

I am upgrading to APs this year just so I can do the short trips. I'm coming from Canada and fly from buffalo to Orlando. I'm hoping to get in at least 2 3 day trips on top of the others I have planned. I plan on making that a habit because I love going and miss it if I wait to long.

3 or 4 Days is a normal length trip for us due to work schedules and travel/drive time to Orlando. We’ve even done one days when we’re near Orlando so I say yes if it’s financially feasible -go for it. You can do a lot in 3 days even without a hopper. We go around that same time in February every year. I love it!! Great weather and good crowd levels. I do have a full week trip on my radar for a future visit but I’ll take 3 or 4 days where I can get it.

Ummm. This will take some thought. Nevermind, absolutely 100% yes! :) We went on a cruise out of Port Canaveral in 2017. And we got to our pre-cruise / non-disney / MCO airport hotel at 3p, we subsequently ubered to Epcot for the evening. Because, we were in Orlando, and we couldn't stand not spending any available time at WDW! So, I say go for it. It'll help tide you over until your next longer trip.
