3 out of 4 family members got fp's for 7DMT

** Our FP+ for BTMRR worked on Space and 7DMT ** when we were there in October, not sure why or how but it did.

And vice versa.

We had FP+ at 7DMT and it was down during our stay for like 4 hours, during our FP+ time and our FP let us onto BTMRR during the 7DMT time slot....

Disney does this when rides go down. They open FP usage to several similar level rides. Ordinarily, FP is for one ride only, not interchangeable such as when rides go down.

Try getting on the website over and over multiple times a day and maybe you can pull an overlapping one for him. When we booked FP+ for our October trip at our 60 day mark, it showed us we were getting 3 for A&E. When I confirmed, it gave DH and I FP+ for A&E and defaulted DD to meeting Mickey Mouse without any warning it was not giving it what it was showing us. Yep- my 8 year old is going to love going by herself to meet Mickey while Dad and I go see A&E. (Yes- one of us would have given her our magicband and the other parent would have just had to wait outside). I stalked the website constantly. Eventually an overlapping one popped up and I grabbed it. It doesn't matter if you just have 5 minutes of overlap as long as you have some. Actually, they will let you in 5 minutes before your FP+, so even if there was a 5 minute gap in between them, you would be okay.

I would just do what you are hesitant to do - take off his bracelet before you get to the line and let the CM assume he is 2.

It's not like taking him into the park without a ticket after he's turned 3, or lying at a buffet. It really is a "victimless crime" - especially since the Mine Train doesn't have a single rider line.

I seriously doubt that anyone at Disney World wants their guests stressed out in advance, stalking the web site and worrying this much about getting their 3-year-old on a ride!

I am normally against rule-breaking by claiming that kids are younger than usual to get discounts etc. and don't like the example set when kids hear you doing it (but I guess it didn't affect me as my mother did it repeatedly for years everywhere until there was no way I could pass for the younger age). BUT, after 2 FP+ trips, in my opinion WDW is making us all victims of FP+ and I say if you can't get a FP+ for him before your trip, go for it! WDW has given us a glitchy miserable system that creates all kinds of different problems and issues for families. Chances are, the CM won't even say anything about it. When my DD was 2, she was huge and they never questioned us. You aren't taking any money from WDW. Plus, It's not like you have no FP+ for the ride and you are trying to sneak everyone in, or that the FP+ would not have been available if you could have gotten his with the rest of the family. Keep trying repeatedly to get him a FP+, but if you can't I'd just pull the bracelet off and put it in your purse and take him through with you. They probably won't say a word since he does not have a band on his wrist.

The first post on here that updates every 30 min when FP+ become available for 7DMT may help you too. I know some people have had luck with it. For me- when the system decided to unilaterally change DD's FP+ from the A&E it was showing, I just kept the window open for A&E on my computer at work and checked over and over and over all day until I found an overlapping one.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions.

I'll keep checking periodically throughout the day, every day until we're at Mine Train time. If not, I think I might slip off his magic band. If my family chose rider swap it would cost Disney the same amount of seats as just letting my (just passed his birthday) three year old on. Granted, maybe I'm just trying to use that as justification. I tend to have a guilty conscience about these things though.
