3 night Dream Cruise April 26-29, 2012

Just booked this cruise for dh, dd (7) and myself. Friends of our booked it and it didn't take much to twist our arms to join!

Our daughter has not been on the Dream yet. I hope she likes the kids club (she loves it on the Magic).

Hello!

We just booked our first Disney cruise. We love to cruise RCL, but we thought that we would give a weekend Disney cruise a try while my husband and Dad are on a fishing trip.

I will be cruising with my mom and my son. My son will turn 4 right before the cruise, so we will celebrate his birthday. He is very excited about going on Mickey Mouse's cruise ship. We docked next to the Dream in Nassau a couple of times last year on the Oasis and the Allure, so it was neat to have a birds-eye view of the Dream.

We are totally new to Disney travel, so any tips you have are much appreciated. Since we booked so close to the cruise, all we could get is late seating. I contacted our travel agent and got on a waitlist. I hope that it works out--Late seating for my son will be tough.

Looking forward to this!:cool1:

Well!

In a random and convoluted turn of events, this has changed from a solo trip to an anniversary trip with my husband.

So! Just thought I should update :thumbsup2

Just booked our cruise this week and very excited to finally experience a cruise on the Dream!

 & :cool1:

My DD 15 and i will be on this cruise, we are leaveing DS/DH behind this time. It will be by 6th DCL, first on the Dream. We will be celebrating her DD's 15the Birthday.

We were going to sail on the Royal Carribbean Monarch of the Seas but decided to spend a bit more and do DCL and just booked it a few weeks ago. When I told my daughter we were going to go on the dream she was just was literally dancing! I am of course back to being hooked on the disboards to get every detail I can about the dream.

I booked a cat 11gty so am anxiously awaiting room assignment and hoping for an upgrade!

DH and I are going on this cruise as well, sans our 2 year old. So if you see a couple making googly eyes at....someone else's toddler.....well, that's us missing our kiddo. I can only imagine the loot she will end up with as we buy out the shop's princess merchandise out of guilt. Of course, she'll be with grandma and grandpa staying up late and eating ice cream for dinner, so chances are she'll be glad we're staying away for a few days!

We're actually going as part of a wedding. Our dear friends are getting married on Nassau day (in an as-yet non-disclosed location on the boat...hmmm....) :lovestruc I'd been looking for an excuse to drag hubby on the Dream this year, so I'm glad they finally decided to tie the knot :thumbsup2 win win!

We have a GTY also - I keep checking the site every day and nada.

Anyhow, we are Erica and Lionel, 30-something geeks. Wait. DH just turned 40. That makes us Erica, 30-something geek (and mom) and Lionel, 40 year old geek. I like to say that to him as often as I can. That, and the threat of trading him in for a younger model :rotfl:

This will be cruise #7 for me, #8 for him (I was too pregnant to attend the first DCL wedding we were invited too, so he had to stand in for me - I was a bridesmaid). First ever on the Dream! Can't wait to meet her.

Hello :thumbsup2 ,
I booked this cruise a couple weeks ago and just found this forum a couple days ago while :surfweb:.

This will be our 1st Disney cruise & family cruise. DH & I have cruised a couple times b4. This is 1st cruise for pirate: ds(10) & princess: dd(7). They r so excited, so r we(dh & me). Dh & I have been 2 the Bahamas a few times, Nassau twice. The kids have never been.

I need opinions/suggestions on what do while in Nassau & while on Castaway Cay. I would like to stay & enjoy ship, but I want kids 2 see & experience the culture, shopping, history. Is there an excursion u would suggest? I've read a few things not so favorable of the excursions but read if sight seeing, best 2 do excursion 4 several reason.

Also while on Castaway Cay I notice u can rent equipment & do activities. What do u suggest? What is a must 2 enjoy beach & island? :goodvibes

I've heard good things about the Pirate museum on Nassau - it's walking distance from the ship and I don't think it's too expensive. Fun for kids, if they're into pirates pirate:

Personally we never do much on Nassau. We took a self-guided walking tour once up to the Queen's Staircase and that fort that I forget the name of. It took about an hour, maybe, round trip, and that included stopping for photos along the way and pausing for awhile at the fort - GREAT view from that spot too. And it's free! Straw market is fun for a bargain but it's usually too crowded for me - I don't like being smooshed into small spaces.

On CC we have done the jetski eco tour (fun, but scary if you're scared of sharks of wide stretches of ocean - you go a mile or two out and the island is a little dot!), and the stingray snorkel/feeding tour (scroll down past the 80's night info for pics). We've also rented boats, floats, snorkels, biked around the island, had a cabana massage (ok, that was just me, but it was AWESOME) and sat on the beach reading a book. So really, depends on what you like! We're probably going to hit the heads-up bar and then lounge around at Serenity Bay. I might also take a gander at that giant slide contraption they have now at the family beach.

I was wondering the same thing!
Have you ever done Fish Extenders before? This is our first Disney Cruise. DH and I have been on several other cruises, first ever for DD(8) princess:. We'll also have more family and friends with us...a real "Grand Gathering." party:

Fish Extenders sounds like a lot of fun. Do we just start a list here of anyone that wants to participate? I've seen lists that include:

your board name,
your real names (first names are fine),
your cabin #,
children? If yes, ages and gender.

Do we just ask if anyone else is interested? pixiedust:

Yep, just ask!
We maaaaay bring ours, but currently I'm trying to get the wedding group on board with doing a few fun things so it may just be for them. Not sure yet.

I do know this - we finally have a stateroom assignment and we got a little upgrade, woohoo! :yay:
From a 6A to a 5D - which basically means bye bye whitewall. Sweet.

We have never done fish extenders before but have friends that always do them on their trips...I have spent lots of time with her making FE gifts and getting ideas!

We would definitely be in for doing them!

We may do fish extenders....trying to hook up with the rest of the wedding crew because I think we may end up doing something amongst ourselves.

BUT - I will let you know! :goodvibes

Great! :dance3:

Let's start a list of who wants to participate. I'll be happy to keep a master list of everyone that has signed up, but I'm not sure how to make it accessible/easy to find. Ideas?

We'll need to print the completed list and bring it on board for gift delivery planning.

To sign up, please list:

Your cabin #
Your board name
Your real name (s) - first names are fine
Children? If yes, please include ages and gender

Should we set a deadline for signing up? When?

We're travelling with a group of friends and family members. I'm the official board representative for the group, so I'll also sign them up if they choose to participate.

Here's a start:

Cabin 10045, PoohPrincess/Joe, Debbie & Madison (age 8)
Cabin 10047, (Pooh Princess)/Phil

Hello everyone!!! We just booked our first Disney cruise and I'm very very excited! I think I'm more excited than my 10-yr old nephew! It will be his first cruise, hopefully he'll enjoy it.

My brother and his son are coming to visit us here in the US and we decided to take this opportunity to try a Disney cruise. Of course the grandparents are coming so they can spend as much time with their grandson as possible. We are also celebrating Grandpa's 67th birthday!

Count us in for the Fish Extenders exchange!

Cabin#7646
4 adults: Gail (me - gmros), Grandpa, Grandma, Sherwin (my brother)
1 child: Jerald (male, 10)

Here's to a fun cruise!
