Pre trip plans:
Blair and I went to Disney World last year for 4 days. At that time we thought it would be our one and only trip to the world . You can stop laughing, we just did not know how addicting the world could be! Blair and I loved Disney but knew we would not be able to go back anytime soon if at all due to fact we don't take vacations every year and we had just gone last summer. But it just so happened that I had purchased an annual pass last year because it saved me money with the room discount. Well Blair and I were talking about how great disney was and how it would be fun to return and how we should go this year since my pass would still be good and it might be our last summer vacation with Kayla being able to go. When all of a sudden Brad said you know that would be pretty smart of you if you ever plan to go back. AFTER I FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR, I jumped on it and so did the kids and inside of 30 minutes we had him convinced it was all his idea that we return this year!!!!Yippee
The planning will now begin:I thought we better stay at a value resort since we were going to stay for 7 days total. So I booked Pop Century . I was excited since it was a new resort but secretly wanted to stay at CBR since this is where we stayed before. Kids were great about resort realizing that I needed to save the money. I then booked our airfare with SWA and got a great rate of 191.80 per person. Only drawback we have to drive 4 hours to get to airport for this rate. Airport 1 hour away had tickets at 350.00 per person . With savings I felt this was the way to go. Booked towncar with Tiffany, bought 7 day Park Hoppers from Ticketmania and tickets for Disney Quest. Saved alot thanks to these boards. Now just to save for meals, etc.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN- Got tax refund and hubby gave it to me for trip. Hubby sold tractor asked how much I still needed for Disney trip . I said about $1200.00 he gave it to me and then suprised me with a new wedding set as well. What a man!!!Then to top it off SWA was having a sale on airfare and I took a chance and called to see what could be done since I already bought tickets. They said they would credit my credit card back the savings. Can you believe that, I sure couldn't. Tickets ended up costing 112.00 per person for a non stop flight. And I have already received the credit back on my card. Then I saw a posting on this board about calling AOL for lower rate. I called got the rate and started adding difference to my disney fund. I LOVE THESE BOARDS.
Well I got to thinking with the money I saved on airfare I could book a moderate resort . Made the mistake of telling Kayla and all of a sudden my 17 year old (who thinks she might be to old for Disney) said you know I really would like to stay at POFQ , I want to go down that cool dragon slide. HA HA maybe she is not to old after all! I called and booked a waterview room at POFQ.
Kayla thinks I am crazy with all the planning I have been doing. I keep hoping she will get a little more excited .She says she is but she has to much going on right now. She has a birthday on 05/25/04 and then she has senior pictures to have made before our trip. Kayla is going to graduate early next year and begin college for nursing in Jan 2005. She has already been accepted so this is probably going to be our last summer vac for awhile. She is going to go to school during summer months so that she can get her degree early. I think when the day comes for us to leave she will begin to get really excited and when we arrive I believe she will turn into a little girl again, I know that I did. We will leave in approx 19 days and I will write a report when we return!
