Headed to Vero..for 2 nights, then off to AKV for 5 nights and then Hilton Head for 2 nights on the way back. Starts with the beach and ends with the beach with a little Mickey magic sandwiched in between!! Never been to Vero so we are anxious to check that out. Can't wait to checkout the new Kidani Village and we love Hilton Head beaches.

What is your favorite thing to do at both Vero & Hilton Head?

Last summer my DS11 and I went on the kayak tour at HHI- we saw dolphins, oysters (of course) and some shrimp actually jumped into our kayak. We both LOVED this tour, and I was so happy we shared our time together this way! This year, I'm hoping to do the same tour but with DS10 and DH along. Also had a blast at the Star Spangled BBQ, the kids loved all the games. We never made it to the campfire at night, so that is on our list for this summer. And we also LOVED all the bike paths- the kids all enjoyed riding all over the place at the resort. Have fun! Sounds like you're planning an excellent trip!:thumbsup2

My favorite thing to do at VB is Nothing! I love getting up in the AM... stroll down to the pool read and have NO PLAN for the day.:cool1:

My DD would love the kayak tour!

VB..that sounds good to me! We are driving straight down from VA. We did it in April leaving at 5am and getting to Orlando around 6pm with a 1 hr breakfast stop and a 30 min. lunch stop. Since we have to go further maybe we'll go through a drive thru for breakfast and eat in the car and then I am packing a lunch so we'll eat at a rest stop.

So after that long drive doing a little nothing sounds like it would be good. :)

Are you driving?? How far is it from VA to Vero?? We live in MD. I would love to do something like that one day. However I was thinking of flying into Jacksonville and renting a van, then driving to HHI, then back down to WDW then fly home from Jacksonville. Or we could do it vice versa. Or another trip might be to just do beach trips........drive to HHI for 3 days, then drive to Vero for 3 and then drive back to HHI for a couple of days. Maybe skip WDW that year.

The campfire at HHI is fun, and the staff is great. I was on a solo trip, but I still enjoyed it. I really love this resort for relaxing! I've never been to Vero, so let us know how you like it! I plan to visit it one day!

Sounds like the perfect trip to me!

VB has different things depending on the day - a few of our favorites:
Dive-in Movie (called Cinema by the Sea I think) - Tuesday night
Creatures of the Lagoon - Tuesday morning
Campfire - Fri/Sat/Mon (I think)
Portholes Mini Golf
The early morning Turtle Troop is great if it's being offered.

We really like sitting on the porch of the Green Cabin Room

At HHI - anything w/B'Lou Crabbe was our favorite.

Yep..we're driving. Straight through. In April we left at 5am (had everything packed the night before, we got up at 4:30am & woke the kids and off we went. Stopped at a Mickey D's on the way down for breakfast. We went to WDW then. We will leave the same time and unless there's traffic we should get to Vero in the same time because we are not getting off on I-4 we'll just go straight through on I-95.

I wasn't keen on the idea of going straight down at first, but it went fast and now we'll probably always do it that way. It only took 12-13 hrs and we even stopped for a 1 hr breakfast and a 45 min. lunch. Luckily the cops didn't stop us at 85-90mph. However, we weren't so lucky coming back!
