3 Grannies, Disney Dancing & Deviltry! Oh, my!!

Good Morning, Sunshines! :flower1:

Happy June 1st! May seemed to fly by...nothing seems to drag by anymore.

Tomorrow we hit the road for the 12 hour drive to St. Pete - DD, self, 3 1/2 DGD, almost 17 yr old Jackie and 4 yr old Rosie (our Maltese babies). Me thinks it might be a long drive, but fingers crossed me make it in good time. Poor DD is the only driver....and the only hotel we can find that is not on the bedbug registry is only 2 hours from our destination. Not sure it is worth all the work for one night and be just two hours away. We can take a small bag for the people, but the pups require more....puppy pads, food, special water, beds...
Good luck with your trip!!! Both the drive and with fiding housing !!!

Linda & Rosie, what are we thinking in terms of a DP? None and go with the TIW? We can certainly wait in the standby line for the early CP show...since Rosie has never experienced it, I thought it worth seeing...Linda, you have seen it, yes?
CP is entirely up to you guys I am fine with or without it !!I do however REALLY want to see the Osborne Lights !!!

Also, might be a good idea to throw out possible dates ....Rosie, I know you are away playing at Lake George with Elvis, but you'll catch up.

If it is possible for us to go after the first week, crowds lessen considerably. It used to be the 1st week was empty, but not anymore...it's actually pretty crowded now.
Dec. 12th (Thurs thru Wed. Dec 18th would work for me , I could have the House Party on the 11th and still be home for a week before Christmas !!!

So take a look at a calender and let's think about dates!

Have a great Friday! Linda, when do you go home? Safe travels!

Absolutely!! ::yes:: (well, as long as Rosie doesn't bring home an Elvis or two!:rotfl:)

I tried :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, and I have a pretty good feeling one more might be joining us, but she will not commit until much closer. She will have to reveal herself here, but I don't think she has even stopped by the thread yet. Hmm.....:confused3

Maybe we should be the DisGrannies !!! Sorry Eleen and Kammi I am stealing from your DisMoms !!:lmao:

:woohoo: How exciting!!! If we weren't heading to St Pete tomorrow, I'd have done the same...but I will definitely get one before the next increase!

Oh my...what does Rosie have up her short sleeve?! popcorn::

Time will tell !! You will see I have become an influence on another escort :confused3:rotfl2:

I am not sure how to much to figure a day for food....I enjoy eating more on vacation than at home. :)

Oh I absoutely LOVE breakfast out on vacation. Honestly, if we can swing it, I'd really like to do at least two TS breakfasts - depending on where we stay, we can go to places that are easy to get to....if we are at WL, we could go to Kona one and maybe MK or WCC (still one the good options cost wise!) another day?

I have a couple of places I'd like to add, if possible:

Via Napoli or Tutto

Trail's End for supper or Trails End To Go: A Fried Chicken Box lunch and eat on the porch sitting on the rocking chairs, if weather is nice. (this is only available after 4:30)

Rose and Crown is fine with me.

I have some fave CS's, but am totally flexible...except cannot eat at WPE because they use garlic in everythingand they cannot alter anything. Garlic makes me deathly ill...even the smell makes me sick. :(

EOS is fine and I can even get something there and meet you at WPE to eat.:thumbsup2

Of course, I do love FTBB - it is not even so much the food because the same can be found over at MGM, but I love going down near the water to eat...it's so pretty and relaxing. :cloud9:

Linda, any faves or must do's? Must be some place!! popcorn::

I think Via Napoli is a good option as the large pizza feeds 2 or 3 , I absolutely want to do Kona for breakfast !! Olivia's is also very good !!! CHH is another fav.

I think Christine and I may need all the help we can get to keep Rosie inline! :rotfl2:

I think that would be a YES and YES, please!!!! :rotfl:

Hello from St. Pete! ...we are having rain, rain and more rain! I've spent a lot of time in FL, but this is the most rain since 2008 at WDW with Tropical Storm Faye - she lasted 2 full days, but this has paced itself over everyday this week so not a day without several hours of rain (not like the typical afternoon shower). Tomorrow is supposed to a full day of rain...hoping to get Sophia on a Dolphin Cruise Friday morning. Fingers crossed - poor kid has no concept of what "vacation" means and keeps asking, "Is daddy is coming to live at our new house too?" Then when Mia explains we are on vacation and that we are going home to our house and daddy will be there, she relaxes for a while.

Even though we try to find a playground or do something fun for her once a day, it is a LOT of driving around to see neighborhoods and areas. She has really been a trooper.

If the weather changes (Friday is only a 40% chance of rain right now...tomorrow is 90%) we are hoping to take her on a Dolphin Cruise Friday morning..if not, then we'll go to the Tampa Aquarium Friday. Traffic here is NUTS!!!!! As I type, Mia & Sophia are the way back from Seminole where she visited one of her closet friends for the afternoon (they had a fabulous time - her friend has 2 munchkins - one 16 mos older and one 4 mos younger, so they had a ball playing together - anyway, traffic is a mess so who knows how long it will take her to go 4 miles.;)

Oh, our Cottage is fantastic - the photos did not do it justice. It was just completely redone last March and feels like we are in a nook of Key West.:cloud9:

Hope you are all having a great week!

What's new with my co-grannies??

Jeannette, haven't gotten over to the RC thread - trust your trip was wonderful and you came back rested and recharged ...to plan for the next WDW trip! ::yes::

Christine you'll have to keep us updated on how serious your plans are about moving to FL. I think that would be a great adventure ... and you'd be close so I would have someone to share my solo trips with! :cloud9:

Linda, we are very serious...and you can bet I will share your Florida trips...but I can get there from NC too ;) Just give me enough time to plan and I'd love to join you for a few days! ::yes::

Are you home now? Was your time in SO CA wonderful? I hope so.:goodvibes

When would the move to Florida be ??? If I ever moved out of NY it would either be Florida ( Orlando area ) or Arizona (Tempe area ), but I don't think Iwill be doing either !! Judy is talking about moving out of Niagara Falls as the crime rate is getting bad , just a high speed police chase down our street this week:scared1:The last time I read in the paper how the cops followed at an approriate speed , yea right if you cal 80 on a city street appropriate :rotfl2::rotfl2:, those cops were burning rubber :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh my gosh!! Definitely time for a move for all of you!!!

If Mia sees a place she likes then she'll go home and begin the planning...will take a while to get the house ready to sell, get rid of all the junk etc...she would like to get her time for Sophia to start Kindergarten, which would be a yr from this coming Sept - so we shall see.

Tempe, AZ? Why there? You'd be a long way from WDW! Closer to DL of course. :woohoo:

I think Christine and I may need all the help we can get to keep Rosie inline! :rotfl2:
I'd like to volunteer my services...plus I am a nurse so if there are any "pole" injuries :rotfl:

I think that would be a YES and YES, please!!!! :rotfl:

Missed you!!!! I got sick the day before coming home..but I am much better, today is DHs birthday. And if I could move to Fla....in a heartbeat! :cloud9:

 Not that Orlando or Tampa/Clearwater are crime free...but there are nicer areas...houses cheaper.heck even the gas prices were 50 cents less pr gallon then NJ...plus DH wouldn't have to shovel snow anymore. NJ is steadily declining...taxes are high....ugh. I hear ya Rose. Same boat down here

I'm sure that three old grannies could use a nurse even without "pole" injuries!:thumbsup2

Yes, Christine we are missing you. Can't wait for you to get back and start posting again!:grouphug:

If you want high prices try Calif!!!:scared1:

Good morning to my fellow grannies!!! :goodvibes

Morning to you Mama Linda  So Rosie can change the title to 3 Grannies and RC RN

Does that mean you'll be joining us for a few days?!?! If so, I can change the title as soon as you give me a YES!! :woohoo:Just say the word!!

I'd like to volunteer my services...plus I am a nurse so if there are any "pole" injuries :rotfl:

I'm tellin' ya, we will most definitely require the services of an ER nurse.:thumbsup2

Gas has been much less than even NC here! We are not looking at the Tampa/Clearwater area exactly....it's just easier to write that so my friends have a general idea. We are staying in Safety Harbor - a quaint old FL small city where a Pedi at the local nail salon is $50!! Obviously, not everyone living here is "Old Florida". ;) There is an excellent Montessori school here that goes up to 8th grade, then an excellent HS with an International Baccalaureate program. Also a Waldorf school.

Our first choice would likely be the Sarasota area, but Mia wants to be not more than about 30 mins from her best friend (who has a little ones very close to Sophia's age and they all hit it off).:goodvibes

Good morning to my fellow grannies!!! :goodvibes

 Our last night here, but we did decide to spend tomorrow night in Amelia Island...then the long drive home on Sunday and Mia has to work on Monday. :(
Make that the Queen RC RN!!! :rotfl2:

:dance3:

P.S. Linda GG, don't forget...when you do a solo trip, give me some notice and I will join you for a long weekend!! Would be fun!!:yay:
