I think I may never be the same after my nightmare day !!!
Here's how it went :-
10 p last night my boss calls and says I have to go in for the overnight drill at 3:30a this morning !! I was not happy but set my alarm and then either slept thru it or it didn't go off ( thinks it is still in the Bahamas )
3:40a my overnight staff calls and says 1 of the guys fell during the drill and has cuts on her face and the nurse is calling back . Next call she has to go to the ER soooo up I get again and take her , when I say I was falling asleep sitting there I kid you not !! I was exhausted . Finally my day staff comes to releave me at 9:30 a , but by then I have been told they are admitting her as the CT Scan showed a possible /old fracture of a cervical vertebrae Noe dear Jeanette hates going to the hospital and is NOT happy tomhear this and she wants a diet coke !! This lady is the GURU of repeating so by the time I was releaved I was not a happy camper Of course this all meant an incident report had to made out and sent to the state and it has to be investigated and I have to call EVERYONE to let them know . Well I was done with all the paperwork and calls around 12:30p and then had to do all the money for the week and balance everything , by which time it was 2nd job !! I get there to find NO ONE there and an individual who does NOT have home alone thereight then I knew it was gonna be a bad night !! The staff finally arrived and her story and the gal who does the scheduling doesn't match, but Oh well I was there when I was supposed to be !! They can figure out who gets charges of neglect!!
The rest of the evening was a nightmare !! The staff during the week took them all out to buy Mother's Day cards but NO gifts , you have you have to be kidding me So off to the store gous Rosie with 2 at a time to get gifts !!wrap them and sort out all the money there !! I also had to pack 1 of them , do laundry , which looked like it hadn't been done all week I made out the receipts for meds for the families also. The final straw was when I went to pass meds the pill minder was empty, no one had filled it I put my foot down and left a note for the next staff to do it !!Soo I am not a happy camper and my manager is gonna hear about it on Monday!!

Geez, Rosie! What a welcome home.... NOT!!!! It is frazzling to read, never mind what it must have been like for you to deal with...and exhausted. Sounds you will be dealing with the fallout for the rest of the weekend. Come here and let us cheer you up!!!

Omg Rosie! I swear my blood pressure went up just reading that! It makes me very scared to think of how things are run when you aren't there
