3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

:lmao: Too funny about having your camera ready for pics on the ride! I actually video taped the whole ride! It's a little bouncy! :lmao::lmao: n
That's so awesome that DD loves ToT so much! :thumbsup2 I was always so scared of tht darn boiler room! :rotfl:

Aww, someone's wiped out! And I totally understand about the picture! I showed my BF (who still has yet to go to WDW-guess who's gotta take him! ;)) and he didn't have the same reaction of uncontrollable giggles as we have every time we see it! I guess he's gotta actually go to see how childlike you become in the World! :goodvibes

Oh, and great pics of the parade! That looks so fun! We haven't seen it yet!

Did you go over and check us out???!!! Great thread...lots of good discussion. I'll expect to 'see' you over there

I haven't gotten a chance yet. This weekend was pretty busy. I took Reid to a bday party for one of his little friends on Saturday afternoon. When I got home, Ed surprised me with a new Mac laptop. So, I've been trying to learn it & get all of our financial info transferred over to it. But, I'm going to go check y'all out as soon as I can! I'm sure I'll fit right in! :lmao:

I'm surprised that the CR priced out more than the Poly...were you doing a standard view at Poly and Tower MK at the CR? You can't beat either of them!! The easy walk to the MK is a super benefit. Although the Poly has the boat and monorail which makes it super easy to travel to the MK...I guess one of my only complaints about the CR was the line for the monorail....it was always so long!! Not sure why After staying onsite at the WL, do you think you would be completely happy offsite at the Hilton? Just food for thought And be warned...if you stay at one of the monorail resorts, they have the largest rooms at WDW...you will get spoiled!!!

I think it was a standard view at Poly & a Bay Lake view room in the tower at CR. The packages came out to be like $200 - $300 different. I do think CR would be perfect for us since we do so much MK & could even walk there. Also, Ed never gets really excited or has any input into our vacations but CR is the one & only resort he has ever said he would really like to stay at. I'm hoping that all will go as planned & we'll be able to afford the package at CR. If not, we'll stay offsite. I'll be happy as long as I'm going to WDW. But, if we can still afford that CR package like I think we can, I'm booking it! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2
definitely come visit! You'll fit right in!

Thanks! I'm definitely going to go over & visit as soon as I finish up all of my housework! Y'all sound like my kind of people!

Oops...forgot to tell you in my last post how much I liked your update. Faith was too cute making those "scared" faces at ToT! Ed loves that ride. When he went on it during our last trip, he took a video of the whole ride on his iPhone. I'm hoping Reid will be tall enough to ride it next year. I have to re-check the height requirement. Then, I just hope he won't chicken out.

Holy cow! I could definitely travel with you:rotfl2:! We have the same plans!! And you're sooooo right...you can knock those rides out quick with the correct timing. Of course we need to keep our plans on the down-low :rolleyes1...it won't be successful once everyone realizes how well it works...:

Roger That! :thumbsup2

:lmao: My husband and daughter made it into one of your 3500 pictures!

How crazy is that!!!! Glad you love the Fort! We think it is awesome!

:lmao: I LOVE your TOT pictures - from Faith's awesome "scared" poses, to the on-ride pics, to the pic of the two of you taking pics!!!!! :rotfl:

The parade looks great. I am not super-keen on parades, but I hope we manage to catch a few this trip.

2 days?!? Wow! Where are you coming from?
We are traveling from Walla Walla, WA. For departure day, I choose not to fly alone with a 4-year-old whom I have had to wake up at 3 a.m., so I decided we would fly to Seattle the afternoon before and stay the night. On the way home, we had a great flight early out of Orlando that, with the time change, would have gotten us home by noon. But the airline canceled the flight and replaced it with one not leaving Orlando until 6 p.m. We get to Seattle after the last flight home has departed, so we are forced to spend another night there. :scared1: I would be really worked up about it, but I got our flights bascally free with miles, so I am making do. We should get some extra WDW time on that departure day this way!

Oh man, I can't do the HS parade, it's so intense! (i.e. loud, bright, sensory overload kind of thing)

Seriously!? That's funny!

We love 50's PT also.
It is so much fun.
One of my coworkers went to WDW this past April.
He said when they were eating there were two girls at the table beside his family. He said the girls looked to be late high school/maybe college. They had their phones out texting.
Their server kept telling them to put those "fancy walkie talkies" away and eat their dinner!
I thought that was so funny!
btw - our DD was 5 when we went to WDW for the first time and we took a stroller for her. There is a lot of walking and like you said - it was nice for her to be able to just get in and relax while we got her to the next stop.
Can't wait to hear about your evening.
Amy

I can totally see that happening! Some of the wait staff is relentless, but so hysterical!! That's what makes 50s so great!

Heather I can't get DH to agree to go back to PrimeTime...I had to eat his veggies because he was scared to get yelled at. A grown man 6'2" scared of a waitress:rotfl:I did eat all his veggies on the sly.....:rolleyes1

I love the two of you with your cameras on ToT, how in the world did you both pull that off? AWESOME!

It's really rather ridiculous...I'm quite aware of the fact:laughing: Thank goodness DH has learned to put up with our obsession with photographs on vacation.

:lmao: Too funny about having your camera ready for pics on the ride! I actually video taped the whole ride! It's a little bouncy! :lmao::lmao: n

What??!! You and your mom haven't drug your BF to Disney, yet??!! Do you think he would like it or not? Then he can be silly with yall!

As you know, look for pins and discounts...something will come out. Or at least I'm hoping they will:laughing: We've paid rack rate once, and that's only because I didn't know about the DisBoards;) Not sure I could pay rack for a room:confused:

I think it's 40 inches...put some really thick sole shoes on him:rolleyes1...Striderite has some;)

How crazy is that!!!! Glad you love the Fort! We think it is awesome!

You are sooooo kidding me!!!!???:rotfl2: OMG! How strange was that to be looking at some strangers TR and see your husband and daughter in a picture!? I'm still cracking up ! What are the odds, huh?:confused3

Well....welcome to my TR:laughing:...and once again...very cool decorations. I love it!

I know, I keep hoping that they'll come out with some sort of discount. I'd even take a break on dining....although I'd prefer the room discount. And I'm hoping to get a pin. I got an email from Disney Destinations the other day & was so excited....until I opened it up to find a promotion code (not a pin) for November of this year. :rotfl:

Good to know....thanks! :thumbsup2 He should definitely be able to ride it by October 2012 because he's almost 39" now. But, if not, I'll definitely be on the lookout for some thick-soled shoes at Striderite....I have to buy Reid's shoes there anyway because of my poor baby's wide feet....

Silly, isn't it!? That dang camera is attached to me 24-7 on vacations:laughing:

The parade looks great. I am not super-keen on parades, but I hope we manage to catch a few this trip.

The afternoon parades don't last long at all...pretty quick. If your DD watches any of those Pixar movies, then she would like that parade.

Makes perfect sense! That is quite a ways! I had to Google Walla Walla:laughing:...never heard of it...learned something new last night.

Here's some pixiedust: for that Pin!!!...and for Reid to be 40 inches!

My DS 19 will NOT go back on ToT. He first went on when he was 11ish. And he's the type to go on ANY thrill ride. He did all the US/IoA rides over and over...and Mission Space, many times. Crazy!!! Last trip I did ToT with my DS8 (he's ten now) we cracked up the whole time. I've missed the rides many trip because I was always pregnant:lmao:

That is too funny! Does your DS 19 just not like the free fall sensation of ToT? I have to say that I normally don't like free fall rides, but I really love ToT. My DH & I both love thrill rides, so I'm praying that our son won't be a chicken. Or even if he's a chicken when he's little, that's fine but I hope he likes the thrill rides by the time he hits his teenage years. If not, I guess we'll still be taking turns riding the thrill rides even when he's 16! :rotfl:

Now, there are only 2 thrill rides that I absolutely HATE & refuse to get on anymore. Mission Space in Epcot & Dr. Dooms Fearfall at IoA. Mission Space makes me S-I-C-K! And Dr. Dooms Fearfall scares the living you-know-what out of me. :lmao:

Yeah, I'm really old and cantankerous. I'll probably change if/when I have kids!

:rotfl2: After your 3rd kid...let me know how ya like those parades:laughing:

No Mission Space for me!...it makes me  Wish I could still do those rides...but age has a way of doing crazy things to ya! DS10 did ToT once...he said never again...

The Neverland Club at the Polynesian
Reservation - 5:30pm for 3 Children
Day 7

Let me preface this by saying that our oldest son was more excited about going to the Neverland Club than anything else…I really didn’t get it :confused3, but oh well…at least he wasn’t dreading it. I’ve pulled information and pictures from several different websites…Allears.net, Disboards, etc. We captured a few pictures ourselves, but couldn’t take too many due to the fact that there were other children around.

DSC_4167.jpg

We took the monorail from the CR to the Poly…again, very easy transportation. We had to stand in line for a bit, but nothing unbearable. We did get a few strange looks from people. I guess they wondered why we were outfitted in dresses and ties and the kids were in shorts  Luckily, when we got to the Poly, it wasn’t raining or we would have been in trouble….one of the few negatives about the Poly…all the buildings are separate.

The kids were soooooo excited to be going! I couldn’t believe it….they practically were in a run! Just a little bit of information for any of you that might be thinking about using one of Disney’s childcare facilities….

Age: Childcare is provided for children over age 3 who are potty-trained, through age 12. Resorts will not make exceptions.

Hours: 4:30 p.m. to midnight, with some exceptions.

Beepers are provided to parents so they can be contacted in case of emergency. (Parents may also call the childcare club to check on their children if desired.)

Price: $11.25 per hour. Dinner is usually included and is usually typical children's fare, such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets and French fries, fruit and ice cream.

Activities offered at the clubs include board games, puzzles, arts and crafts, video games, Disney movies.

Reservations are required in most cases, although walk-ins may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To make reservations, call 407-WDW-DINE. You may also call some of the resorts directly -- the phone numbers are listed with the resort details below.

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise a fee of $20 per child is assessed. Reservations are held for 30 minutes before they are released to other guests.

The Disney resorts offering evening childcare are:

Animal Kingdom Lodge
Simba's Cubhouse
(407) 938-4785

Grand Floridian
Mouseketeer Clubhouse
(407) 824-1666

Polynesian
Never Land Club

Wilderness Lodge
Cub's Den
(407) 824-1083

Yacht and Beach Club
Sandcastle Club
(407) 934-7000, ext. 6191

When entering, a loud bell rings so the attendants can be aware that someone has entered. Immediately, someone met us at the registration desk. We filled out the basic paperwork, and then were given a pager. All 3 children had sticky name tags placed on their backs.

The kids were ready to go!! The theme is so adorable…the entry way is actually a window…just like the Peter Pan Movie!

Once inside, there are a variety of things for them to do.

IMG_7608.jpg

When it was dinner time, they sat at these tables…DS10 said they moved the toys off of the tables and pulled them out from the wall. Then, they brought the food out. We actually wrote down what they wanted when we dropped them off…they gave us a choice.

IMG_7605.jpg

DS10 spent lots of his time in the arcade! He was in heaven…or either on the computers.

DD5 and DS4 spent most of their time playing dress-up and making arts and crafts.pirate:princess:

This area was used for storytelling and movies...DS10 said they watched Chip n Dale and some other older Disney movies.

We returned from Victoria & Alberts around 10ish. The kids were happy to see us, but had such a great time! They were tired, though. They had been going non-stop since we left them. We were all super impressed with the themed facility and the activities they had for the children. All 3 of our kids brought back colored sheets, masks they had created, and a couple of other things. The kids asked if they could go back before our trip was over…we told them it would have to be on another trip.

I would HIGHLY recommend this Kid’s Club to any parent!!!:thumbsup2 It’s not super cheap, but so worth the money for an adult night out. We certainly will be using it again on other trips without a doubt!!!

Up next….Victoria & Albert’s!!!

The Neverland Club looks fantastic. I've never seen pictures of it before but it looks like so much fun for the kids.

:wave2: Hi Grumpy's Wife! I love your signature...too cute! I've heard that Simba's Cub (AKL) is another great one...The Cub's Den (WL) looked really, really small when we dropped in to take a peek. Then we read that the Mouseketter Club didn't get great reviews...not a lot for the kids to do. Who knows? I didn't actually look at it. Next time we're there, I may walk over to see for myself.

No Mission Space for me!...it makes me  Wish I could still do those rides...but age has a way of doing crazy things to ya! DS10 did ToT once...he said never again...

Don't worry....you are not alone! I can ride pretty much ride anything but after one time on that ride I said "NEVER AGAIN!" Ugh - I hate that ride!

Mission space is a no go for me too. DH takes DS now. Haven't figured out DS19 yet....he's in Boot camp now...willing to jump out of a plane but no ToT:lmao:

Oh I hope DS is potty trained next year. All my kids would LOVE to go to the kids club!!! I would love to go too, but I'm slightly older than 12....
