3 days in parks -- considering all 3 in MK??

hi all,

I'm visiting DW next winter with my husband and 4 y/o and 2 y/o. This is our first time to DW (went to DL last year). We will have 3 park days, and will be staying at either Contemporary or WL.

I'm considering spending all 3 days at MK -- is this nuts?

Some of our priorities:
- magic and fun for our kids
- we don't feel a lot of "must see now" pressure or FOMO (fear of missing out); we'll be back and can leave things for next time
- I love planning/strategy, and will build in breaks and downtime, so no full days for us. Will do mornings and late afternoons/early evenings in parks.
- would prefer cheaper cost of non-hopper tickets
- my 4 y/o isn't too Disney or character obsessed; he definitely knows Frozen and Beauty and the Beast, but has somewhat moved on
- my (then will be) 2 y/o is currently obsessed with Moana

Magic Kingdom seems best suited for my age kids as far as rides and ambiance.

Or should we diversify?

Moana I think is only at DHS... but I think I've read on here actually that she may be moved to MK, or has already moved. Hopefully someone else can clarify.

That said, definitely think it's worth at least 1 day at another park besides MK. If it were not for Moana, I would say that that AK would be a great place to stop by with young kids.

I was in MK 2 days last week and Moana was most definitely not there.

I have an 18 month old and we found 2 days at MK to be completely adequate. I'd consider taking your kids to one of the other parks. The adults may enjoy Epcot and there's actually a lot for kids to do there too. We spent a day and a half there and my son enjoyed it.

I wouldn't because 2 was more than enough for us last visit with a 4 year old. My son LOVED AK, but was a bit bored at Epcot, although he liked Soarin and the food. :) We didn't do HS but will be doing it now at 6 because I have a big Star Wars fan on my hands now!

I'll be different and say go for it! The last four park days we've done have been MK days. Kids are now 5, 5, 8. Yes, we do Disney a lot differently than most- doing other stuff, or just relaxing- and doing a park day or two. But MK hasn't gotten old yet.

Next year, we may go back to a different park (haven't entered one of the others since 2013).

Moana is no longer at dhs. She's actually nowhere now. Hopefully will end up at MK.

I'll be there in September with our 2yo and 4yo. My 4yo is OBESSED with Disney princesses and my 2yo is obessed with Minnie. We're spending most of our days at MK, but doing one day each at HS, Epcot and AK.

You might consider doing some time at HS.

Go for it! We've taken the kiddos (4 and 2) to Disney twice since September. We did all the parks the first time, but made the last trip all about MK. We spent at least part of 5 days there and still didn't do everything we wanted (though we got close). We've stayed at WL and Contemporary, which makes coming and going a lot easier. I love MK for that age.

We just did a 5 day trip with a 5 and a 2.5 yr old. 1 AK day and 4 MK days. I wanted them to see all the lands and have time in the schedule to ride Barnstormer 3x's in a row if they wanted. We found 4 days to be too much and wished we would have planned an Epcot or DHS day, too. I think 3 MK days would be perfect for your family.

I should also add...don't forget about what YOU want. I want my kid to have fun, but I love Disney too and want to see more than MK. It's a family vacation, so we want to include things everyone enjoys. My husband is a big Epcot fan, so we definitely can't skip it. I adore AK, so we won't skip that either. :)

I say do what you want and what you think your family would enjoy most. Although MK has the most rides and attractions that kids your age will like and can enjoy, it can also be loud and overstimulating and crowded. Epcot and AK might be worth a visit, depending on where you are staying, because there are some spaces where the kids can walk and play more freely. DHS is not worth the trek at this point in time, with kids your age. But Epcot and AK both have areas where you can take a more relaxed approach to the parks.

I like MK but I think all three days in that one park might be too many in a row. I would try to go to at least one other park, and would probably choose either Epcot or DAK>

Me, my wife, and two daughters (5 and 3) went last June and stayed at the Contemporary. We stayed 6 days and went to MK 4 out of the 6. We are going again in September and we are going for 4 days with three being at MK. Originally we were only going to do 3 days and all 3 were going to be at MK. My parents are now coming and we decided to add one day. My parents would be board doing all 4 days at MK so since we are staying at AKL we are going to AK for a day. Also my dad likes Pandora and he would like to see it.

My kids loved MK. They love to ride rides and when we went to EPCOT in June, by noon my daughters were asking to go back to MK. We stayed but they definitely wanted to go. It was not as bad at AK. They liked it a little better.

I think you should try all the other parks. And Moana isn't at DHS she isn't anywhere rn. There is a lot at MK, but maybe your kids would want to see different things. That's just my opinion.
