Just curious if anyone thinks the 3 day Wonder cruise is worth the money, Am thinking about the 3 day wonder at the end of the year as a long weekend, but with airfare from NY and cruise price am wondering if it worth it, and do most people do the 3 day when combining it with DW.

Do most people do the 3 day when combined with land or for a long weekend of sea only.

Thanks

Well, first of all, let me say that any amount of time on the Disney cruises is well worth it!

Now, as far as being economical, that's another story. We are fortunate to live in Florida and aside from not having to pay airfare to get there, we also get a Florida Resident discount. So, to be fair, I can not comment on what you might feel is a good deal.

But I will say that we have taken two Disney cruises and loved them. We also combine them with a trip to the resorts, but we like to follow the cruise up with the resort visit. That way we have something Disney to look foward to as we sadly leave the ship. The first cruise we took we went to the Resort before the cruise, and the letdown that follows when you disembark was not made better by the three hour drive home.

Have a wonderful time! ::MinnieMo

As soon as my income tax refund arrives, I'm putting down a deposit for the Dec 16 3 day cruise. And I plan on flying from Seattle, though honestly it looks like airfare from here isn't much different than from the Northeast (my sister is flying out fo Boston and meeting us at WDW in April and her fare is on par with mine).

That said, because of the distance I'm flying, we plan on heading over to WDW on the 19th and back home on the 23rd. So, though we'll only be on the ship for 3 days, we get to do Disney for a full week :earsboy:

If it is ONLY for a long weekend, try to squeeze 1 more day in and do a 4-day cruise. At least you`ll have a day at sea to ENJOY the ship.:wave2:

yes yes yes yes yes....
can you guess my answer?
we went on a 3 day wonder cruise in the summer of 2002 and it was wonderful.....truly wonderful...
sure we would have liked to have more time, but that was the cruise we could take at the time....
this summer we're doing the 4 day...
but if i could only do the 3 day again, i would still do it in a flash....
if we lived in the united states, i would have us on that ship at least once a year, if not more......(barb and tony pop down there for 3 day cruises all the time....i'm sure they would say it's worth it)...

as for us, we did combine it with a visit to disney (NOT the land/sea....we did all the bookings seperately)....in fact we were at WDW for 3 weeks....but take into account that we come from the other side of the atlantic ocean...far far far far far on the other side....so it's a major major trip for us (travel alone is 2 days in each direction...by plane....).....
but if i lived in the states, i would definitely pop down for just a weekend cruise...

if you're worried about the cost, it's possible to get cheap flights and take a cheaper cabin on the ship....it doesn't matter where you're staying on the ship...everyone gets to do everything...

Hmmm...never done a 3-day but would --> especially after seeing how many Tony and Barb (inkognito) have taken and have enjoyed each and every one of them! :)

Barb???

If you only have 3 days, then do a 3 day Wonder. If you have 7 days, do a 7 day Magic.....

I don't think a 3 day is financially a good deal (when you consider air costs), but a cruise is wonderful...and if that's all the time you have, then take it!

We prefer a longer cruise less often...but in the middle of the winter, a "long weekend" escape sure looks good.

Thanks for your responses.

Barb and Tony...Do you do WDW with your cruises or do you just cruise?

I can't do the 4 day as its during the week and the kids are in school. I wouldn't mind taking them out for a couple of days, especially if you can do it with a holiday in there.

I'm thinking of the 3 day for my husbands 50th in December. Am doing a 7 day in August as a vacation.
