3 Character Meals too many?

When GC were little we would do 3-4 sometimes more character meals per trip. GC are grown now, but wait along can 2 more little ones. Were back to do CM again. Although we now stay CL and we just don't make the early ones anymore. We do have 2 for this coming trip CP for Dinner on a night MK is open till 3am and Garden Grill on a night Epcot is open till midnight. Other then that we do TS lunches and CS when were hungry.

Lots of trips we travel with our grown children and grandchildren and if they want to get up early to do a character breakfast thats fine, meet you at the park. DH and I have become lazy over the years. We like to take our time and not have to rush into the park for those early breakfast's.

The highlight of older GC visits were character meals and yes I wouldn't have changed a thing. Lots of the character meals we did are gone now and I never regret doing them. Your children are little only once. So if character meals are in your budget do them, and never think your doing to many.

I don't think 3 is too many at all.

We are doing the Cape May Cafe character breakfast each morning of our trip to the Beach Club in August. If it were up to me every meal we have would be a character meal.

I can have a nice meal in a nice restaurant here in Boston anytime I want. When I'm in Disney World I want to feel like I'm in Disney World.

But that's just me....................

no such thing!! we love the character meals and it's been just me and my DH in our 20s. Now that our baby girl is on the way we cant wait to go to wdw and the character meals are going to be a main focus. The character interaction is great, and even for the adults!!! The food is good if you like buffets, which we do. Chef Mickey's is the most loud and chaotic with their napkin waving and craziness... we couldnt wait to get out of that breakfast.. quickest breakfast ever! Tusker House is a calm one. Crystal Palace is medium for breakfast and dinner in terms of chaos. We love CP for breakfast. You could try Ohana for their character breakfast, that is a calm one. The food comes to you.. less variety, but relaxing.

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful feedback! Love these forums. I think we will get a kick out of the kids reactions to the characters (especially our 2 yr old). Plus I'd rather meet them at dinner than have to wait in line at a park. Still intrigued by Ohana though, so maybe I will have to try to fit that in too....

We will be at DW with our two girls (4 and 8) for 8 days and we have 4 character meals booked. I don't think 3 is too much at all! If you are still intrigued with Ohana's, go ahead and try it. There always has to be a first time for everything and you won't know if you love, like, or hate it unless you try it for yourself. On this trip, we will be trying 5 new restaurants and I'm very excited about them, regardless of a few bad reviews!

I dont think its too many either we are going May19-29th and I have 3 set up for us. Garden Grill- Dinner and Tusker House and Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. Other than Ohanas that we have to visit every trip we are trying all new places this time (One a day and we are not on a dining plan). I am excited we usually don't eat as many sit downs but now that we are taking a little one again we figured we would have more time too. Hope you have a wonderful time with yours :)

No way. It's Disney. I think it's great. My mom & dad always took us to all the character meals @ WDW. Now I'm almost 30 & we are all life long fans of WDW. This year we will be taking my son for his 1rst trip do we will be doing 3 character meals ourselves. The adults enjoy them even if they don't think they will. Adults can't help but laugh & smile @ the characters. u'd have to be a huge drag not to have fun. But anyways, Ohana is so hard to get into last min! I NEVER got in yet & I'm hoping to try this for our Nov trip. I'll be making our reservations soon! But Ohana gets really good reviews so I'd go by the menu or what looks best to you. I have always loved Chef Mickey's we go every single time. It's good. But I just hope Ohana lives up to it's hype!

I maybe the only one who does think it is too many...and this is why

Tusker House and Chef Mickey have almost the same characters (my son noticed that Mickey and Goofy didn't seem to recognize him from a few days before)

Also, Chef Mickey dinner is not good...like college cafeteria food.

Ohana was everyone in our family's favorite dinner (me, DH, ILs, and DS-3)

I would keep Tusker House and Crystal Palace (love those) and switch CM to Ohana in heartbeat

Overall, though, I don't think 3 is too many for a trip if it were more of a balance of characters (and if you choose the buffets where the food is okay)

We usually do a character meal each day we are there! I think it is what makes Disneyworld so different from anywhere else.

So no, I don't think you have too many - maybe you don't have enough? ;)

I would have to say no, it's not too many either. We do at least one character meal a day...there are actually 2 days next trip that we have one for breakfast and one for lunch.

Me Too!

dining is just "another" anticipated highlight of the vacation:thumbsup2

PFFFT. My DH and I went for 5 days and had 3 character breakfasts-just the 2 of us :)

I don't think it's too much and the kids will love it. Even the adults will get a kick out of it especially since it's your first trip. Welcome and enjoy your trip.:cool1:

I wouldn't worry. You will all love the way the kid's faces light up when they seem them. You make want to do more character breakfasts when you see what I mean.

DS 7 and I are going for 10 days and I have 3 character meals planned. I booked CM, CP, and GG all dinner since I don't eat big breakfasts. Since it is only the 2 of us I have planned more of the meals for him. Also have Ohanas and Coral Reef booked. He also asked to do the HDDR again so I will book that too. I haven't eaten at GG before but CP was great and CM was decent. Have fun!

3 is definitely not too many! We do mostly character meals! Seems like you have a good mix!
