3 bids so far...

$1.01 :smooth:

Don't you just hate it when they do that on the show?!

$65.88 per point and the reserve is still not met. And there is about 19 hours left in the auction.

$69.40 and the reserve still not met! 2.5 hours to go. I'm betting the reserve is too high-- could be $70, but I'll bet he got greedy and asked $75. We'll see.

Looks like it was $70. 4 hours left, and the reserve has finally been met at $24000.

1) I am convinced most peopole on eBay do not know the true value of things.
2) At least this seems to hold true for folks bidding on Disney stuff and Disney tickets.
3) Sometimes, you feel like yelling "you are over-paying - get a life!!!".

This comes with more points, or at least the second allotment of points is way sooner than buying from Disney.

You could possibly construe that as being worth several dollars per points. It is nicely broken up into two packages of 170.

Even if the closing costs are $800 for the two contracts, that is still less than $3 per points.

Until it gets VERY close to Disney's $84, its still a rational buy.

It could go over and prove you very right.

Well, the auction has closed at 74.29/point... if the owner pays the closing costs this is a rather exceptional deal as you get both the full allotment of '02 & the coming '03 points... the best you can do through Disney is 84/point or 79/point if you do Magical Beginnings... if you do MB, you lose your first year points AND you have to pay the maintenance fee of 3.70(?) per point... Not much value in doing MB....

Even if the buyer pays closing, that's still 76.64, still a considerable savings over Disney's price...

At $74 pp plus closing, the quality of the deal depends on what other fees and costs crop up and the assumption that all points are really there and usable though I think they will be. The seller claims to have banked all points from 2002 to 2003 use year and I believe him. It's pretty much a break even for the seller and a good deal for the buyer only if the number of points and home resort were perfect. The other possibility here is that with the two 170 pt contracts, a buyer could sell one of them in a similar auction and likely come out ahead or at least now lose anything.

Will not wipe out the debt of Dinner for 2 at Artist Point where you bet me that PH would be gone this past summer.
