How quickly do these book up? I know there are only like 6 of these. Are they gone pretty much as soon as the window opens for them?

There are 6 GVs in Jambo House and 16 GVs in Kidani Village so things are a bit better than you thought! I can't provide any information on how quickly they book however.

I was able to get a savannah view one at Kidani at my 7 month mark for Oct 2011.

That Grand Villas fill quickly is an old belief that has been shattered since we have been able to see actual availability on line. The AKV GVs are usually open at 7 months out except for very high demand times of year such as Christmas week and time around Thanksgiving through first part of Dec. The six Jambo single story GVs tend to fill somewhat before the 14 Savanna view two-story GVs at Kidani; the two standard view GVs at Kidani also tend to go a little faster than the others.

That is 100% inaccurate. Since they were ready to make the reservation for me, I will believe them.

They absolutely are. We booked one through DVC just this month for a June vacation. It was a cash reservation. (very expensive) Cash availability for a Grand Villa is another topic, but you most certainly can book that way.

I will also verify that you can book GV on cash, without a discount, very expensive. Did that and waitlisted for in case it became available on points.
