I am thinking about splurging on a 3 bedroom villa at BWV the last week of August, 2005. How difficult is this to get and how many of these units are there? Will I need to call on a day by day basis? Also, if anyone has stayed in one of this units, I would really appreciate your feedback as to how you liked these villas and their location in the hotel.

Thanks.....

There are only 6 Grand Villas at BWV. In August...I have no idea. If you own at BWV I would definitely call day-by-day if you know you want it no matter what time of year with only 6 units available.

The reviews and pictures have been outstanding from what I have read and I don't particularly care for BWV.

We have one booked for December 5-10 this year. We didn't call day by day but called as soon as we could book the whole stay. Actually I thought I read there are 7 GVs. I do know that there are 1 and 2 story GVs available but I was more interested in the 1 bdr layout. The BWVs are one of our home resorts and we love it, but have never stayed in a 1 bdr and we are really excited.

As far as location, etc., there are 2 two story and 5 single story GVs at BWV - all BoardWalk view. The two story are on the top two floors of the yellow "Thimbles & Threads" building below the BoardWalk sign. Directly below the two story GVs are two single story GVs with balconies that extend the entire length of the unit.

The remaining three GVs are the three top floors above the "Screen Door" building at the corner by the Village Green area. The one on the third floor is handicap accessible, and used to be (though may no longer be) a smoking unit.

For reviews, I'd use the SEARCH function and read a few of the threads on this topic.

I believe there are 7 GV's at BWV, 2 2-story and 5 1-story, with one of those being HA. Most people recommend the 1-story, I would think August would be difficult, I would call day by day. Off season they don't seem to be hard to get, we rented one for the end of January at 8 months without a problem. Good luck!

Patty3: We may be neighbors that week. We will be in the GV on 8/29 - 9/4. We had no problem booking it. My sister and I are splitting it. We only booked about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Were very surprised how easy it was to get! It seemed as if there was availability on most rooms. At first we each got a 1 bedroom boardwalk view then decided that since it was 506 points we should go for it. Don't know when we'll be able to do it again. We originally requested a 2 floor but changed it to a 1 floor since we will have 4 small children in it. Read there was a balcony overlooking the living room and felt it wouldn't be safe for the 2 year old. Good luck! Most states seem to go back to school in august so I don't think its a big crowd week. I hope so, anyway! Maybe we can meet up!

We have stayed in the 2 floor BW GV. We requested a 1 floor for the same reason that you did Piglet, our twins were 3 almost 4 during the trip. When we checked in we were told that all the 1 floor units were occupied until later in our stay. The 2 story unit worked fine!

We really loved the view! - The kids really loved going on the balcony every night and watching the fireworks. They also liked watching the boardwalk performers.
