We have never shared a cabin with 3 adults before and it looks like this cruise we will. We will be in a 5C stateroom on the Fantasy. What is the couch like to sleep on? I know it will be a lot of "family togetherness" but I'm more concerned with the comfort of the extra bed.
Thanks

DS17 says the couch is comfortable. He says it is more comfortable than the pull-down bunk.

The bed is a regular twin sized bed. I haven't slept on it, but both of my sons have (different cruises) and had no complaints about it. The bed part is not the typical pull out sofa, but more a pullman-style fold down. The back of the sofa fold down over the seating area and the matress is in the sofa back.

My daughter (adult) always sleeps on the fold-out couch. No complaints.

When my daughter (21) and I cruise, I usually end up sleeping on the sofa bed. It's not bad at all, especially when you are tired. With the curtain closed, I can get up
early get dressed and go out on deck (sea days) without waking her up. I have cruised on the Dream, Wonder and cruising on the Magic in 2 weeks. pooh:

My Teen Children had no problem. They said it was more like a "normal" mattress not like a thin one from a fold out couch.

My 21 year old really big brother stayed on the pull down couch bed when he cruised the Dream with my parents. No complaints from him.

After 15 cruises on 5 different cruise lines, DD (now 29) says that the Disney couch is the most comfortable of any of the couches on other ships. And unlike other ships, it doesn't pull out so it blocks the door or window, it flips over. if you want to leave the couch unmade so you can come back after dinner and use it, just have the room steward show you how to flip it when you are ready. DD said it was a lot more comfortable than the drop down bed when she was younger.

I've slept on the pull-down style sofa on several Disney Cruises. As an 5'11" average-size male in his 40's (in my 30's at the time of the cruises), I can attest to the comfort of the sofa- it gets a thumbs up!

I'm 5'9", A generous 250 pounds, 53, broke my hip in 5 places. I travel quite a bit. So I've rested my head on a Hotel pillow or two.
I love the mattres on the ships although the couch is a different mattress, but still good. With all of the different hotel rooms I've slept in, the couch is still in the top third. I've stayed in rooms where on the second and third night it's been painful sleeping on a particular mattress, others where you can even feel the coils in the mattress. This was not the case with the couch/mattress, I've sailed on two seven night cruises on the couch(Gave my 70's parents the bed).
If a person is 5'8" or taller staying in the upper bunk can be difficult because of height. I know how to get a person an extra 2-3 inches there, but you need couch info so I won't bore you.
I like feather pillows because of an allergic reaction(stuffy nose and sore neck). I always need extra pillows also for acid reflux.

I had to lay on it to help a kid that kept sneaking out of bed, it's not the most comfortable thing in the world but it's not awful either
