We are planning a week long trip the first of December (wife, 2 kids and myself). Now there is a chance a grandparant my want to come along. I hate the idea of haveing to book another room just for one person (we have been looking at animal kingdome lodge). Do any of you folks outhere have any suggestions for a party of 5 where we are not all on top of each other?

I'd probably check out the dvc rental board and see if I could rent points and stay in a villa.

We have done 3 adults (but only 1 child) at Poly & CR. The family we travel with also had done 3 adults and 2 kids and they find the CR resort works best for them. I did feel that the way the bathrooms were set up at CR made it much easier for 3 adults to try to get ready at the same time.

Also possibilities are 2 moderate rooms (great deals with discounts on Mousesavers.com), or a cabin at Ft. WIlderness. We have done these with my parents and enjoyed both. Ft. Wilderness cabins have a living room and kitchen; 2 moderate rooms means 2 bathrooms! Our rooms at Riverside connected with a door. Friends of ours did this at the Value resorts last December. For very little money they got two rooms and had lots of space.

Poly rooms are a nice size and 1 small child could sleep on the little daybed. My daughter (10) enjoyed it. If you are comfortable with bathroom-sharing, the Poly is roomy and my all-time favorite. I was in HEAVEN staying there and am actively plotting my return, despite husband's admonitions to follow a budget.

Have fun! We love to travel with the grandparents. Special memories. :)

Most of the deluxe hotels have deluxe rooms which are 2 queens and a day bed. I do know that AKL also has these rooms but they are more expensive. If a code is released you could probably get one a bit cheaper. YC/BC, GF, Poly and CR all have rooms that have a fifth bed option. You may also want to check out the FW Cabins. Main bedroom has a full size bed and two bunk beds for younger kids. Living room has a murphy bed that can fit two adults.

As for DVC, it depends on your children's ages. Most studios and 1 bedrooms only allow 4 people and one child 3 or under. If you have a 5th person and kids are both over the age of 3 then you would need a 2 bedroom villa. Otherwise, you may want to rethink renting 2 value rooms (try Pop Century) just for the fact that you'll have a 2nd bathroom.

Oops I forgot, Cornado Springs has suites which is the equivolent of basically 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms which you may want to check on price for that as well.
