So, based on what I have been reading I am thinking I might know the answer, but...

For our April 9th trip to WDW:banana: , my H wants to bring the single Peg Prego stroller for my 18month D - I want to bring the DOUBLE Maclaren for both kids cuz I dont think our 3.5 old S is going to be able to walk the entire time.

We have grandparents along on the trip and 8-day hoppers so we plan to go to parks off an on throughout the day for 3 or 4 hour stints to make time for naps and meals rather than pushing the kids to do open to close. We're renting a house nearby and were there in 2006 with the S when he was 20months (with the Peg Stroller) he walked a little and rode most of the time. But now of course he prefers to walk when we go to places like the Mall or whatever... he does not freak if we "make" him ride though.

These are reasons why the H thinks our son will be fine to walk. I dont think so and would prefer to have the double Maclaren along (side by side double) but he thinks it would be too cumbersome and unnecessary. I disagree as I am the one who uses it daily downtown to/from daycare/parking ramp/work. It's fine, maneuverable and handy, despite it's width.

Also - we are flying to Orlando so we will not be bringing both strollers. Any relevant experience/recommendations are appreciated. Thanks for the help! Also, please note, this is my first post to your site. Sorry for the length!

I would most definitely bring the double. We went to Disney for a week back in October when our DD was 3.5 years old....and our younger DD was 6 months. Our older DD definitely rode in the stroller a lot.

I was just there with a 3.3 year old, and very glad to have the double stroller - I'd rather push that 3 year old when he falls asleep than have to carry him - lol - my DN just wore himself OUT and by 2ish, he'd be riding in the stroller and then fall asleep!! He'd nap for a bit and then wake up refreshed and ready to go again - then if we stayed late at night he'd zonk out again - I think it might be worth it for you - unless DH promises to carry the 3 year old when they are tired and upset and ready for sleep/nap. :rotfl2:

Our kids were about the same age our last trip. I would highly recommend bringing your double stroller. What we found is when the kids were fresh and energetic we would park the stroller in stroller parking and let them walk around. This worked very well in fantasyland. This way you didn't have to worry about lugging the stroller ride to ride and after about an hour they were ready for a rest.

It is also very convenient to have so the kids can nap in comfort at their own leisure. I find Disney wreaks havok on a regular routine.

The airport will gate check your stroller not a problem and it will be waiting for you when you get off the plane.

Another vote for the stroller. My girls just turned 5. We are renting a stroller while at the parks for when they need a break.

2 singles... I would never go without a stroller for my 3yo...

We took our double Peg Perego for as long as it could handle the weight of our two DDs. I think we stopped around ages 4 and 2. Now, we use our single Peg Perego Venezia. It has a foot bar across the back that my 5.5 year old stands on while the 3.5 DD rides. That stroller is a work-horse and was well worth every cent that was paid for it! The double was nice but was quite difficult navigating on the sidewalks when the parks were crowded and forget about the stores along Main Street. Tough to get around in. Good luck deciding!

My girls are 3.7 and they always use the stroller(we live in fl and visit often). We were just there a couple of weeks ago and they totally needed it.

I just wanted to add that the double peg is a much harder stroller to steer than the maclaren (had both). The peg has 4 sets of wheels and the maclarens has six, making it soooo much easier to move. I got rid of the peg because of this.

You wont have a problem with your maclaren.

Definitely take a double. Our twins are 4 and we will still be taking our double jogger to Disney. They, of course, don't sit in the jogger all day, but they do need to rest from time to time, especially at night when they are more apt to be tired out. Even if your older child doesn't sit in the Mac that often, I think you'll be happy to have the extra seat "just in case."

My guess. If you take the single you will end up renting a single or buying another single when you are there. Even the most fit of 3.5 year olds needs a stroller at Disney. We always take our double. My dd is 4.5 and we took the double in January when we went. Why take the risk? The Peg double is super lightweight and easy to travel with. Take it.
