3, 4 or 5 Day Ticket

Yes, this is one of the differences between WDW and DLR. At DLR, when you upgrade you always pay the full gate price minus what you actually paid for the ticket. Sometimes they make a mistake and credit you with the full price of your ticket; but not often, and I wouldn't count on it.

Thanks.

To the OP, I'd buy a 4-day pass, so you can at least go into a park on the first night.

We'll be there June 5-9 too! I'm planning for 4-day passes, which would include Tuesday afternoon, then all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Not doing Saturday because I expect it will be busier than any of the weekdays and it just seems too frantic to do the park, get to the airport, fly home, then drive from the PDX airport all in one day -- at least on Tuesday we have the first day excitement to energize us! I toyed with the idea of just getting the 3-day passes and not doing Tuesday, but for the small cost difference, it just didn't make sense NOT to hit the park Tuesday.

What are the dates of your trip?

Heres what i would do.
tuesday... fly into sna, check into hotel, enjoy hotel pool/relax, explore DTD that evening
wed, thurs, fri,...hit the parks
sat...wakeup, have breakfast, pack your bags, fly home

June 5 - 9
Buy 4 day parkhoppers, june 5-9 is summer park hours

disneyland 8am-midnight, possibly 11pm if theres grad nights
DCA 10am-10pm

tuesday...check into hotel, head for the parks
wed,thurs,fri...in the parks
sat...wakeup, have breakfast, pack your bags, fly home

One way to squeeze in one more day of Disney Magic on Saturday is do the character breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen.
