3/28/09 Spring Break Magic in St. Croix

No call here either, but I would love an upgrade. What category did you start with and end with?

We went from a category 5 to a category 4 room. I looked on-line and it looks like only category 4 and category 6 rooms are still available so there must have been a need for a category 5 room. Always fun to get an unexpected surprise.

And the timing couldn't have been better. We finally got rid of all of our snow and then we got hit with another 4-6 inches on Saturday. I am so ready for the warm sunshine I can't even take it. So any talk and planning for the cruise just keeps me going!!

That is SO awesome!!! And, nothing like having some extra room too!!!

FL isn't so warm today, but it's supposed to get better by the weekend!!!

Well.....DD basically INSISTED that we needed to join all of you on this cruise, so we booked it today. I'll read thru the posts to get an idea of what is going on. Think I may spend most of my time enjoying my balcony (yeah, I splurged!)

This will be our 18th cruise on the Magic, 20th on DCL. The sailing party will be me (mom) and DD who just turned 18. It's sort of our last trip together before college as she's planning to pick up a summer course.....

Hi and welcome,

If you would like to join our fish extender exchange, just pm me your names (first and last), age of your children and stateroom number. The deadline to join is Friday, Feb. 27th.

We had quite a chilly start in NE FL as well!

That's great that you were upgraded! We had a Cat 9 on our first cruise (3 day Wonder) and booked at Cat 7 for this one because that was the lowest category available when we booked. It's just me and DH so it will be perfect. Plus, we were able to snag a "secret verandah" room-- I can't wait!!

Wife and I joining along with our 3 kids, I have never been on Disney cruise. We booked 2 weeks ago!!! This will the second cruise for wife and I and first for the kids. We traveled with Royal Caribbean last year.

Looking forward to this vacation, like may others the Florida Resident rate during Spring Break was hard to pass. I have not planned any excursions, any recommendations?

They've started the "great cabin shuffle" for our cruise. That's my name for when categories suddenly start appearing or disappearing every few hours. We were a gty yesterday when TA called DCL, but as soon as he got back to me to ok the gty status and flipped back to DCL's line, we had an assignment.

Early this morning, there were 8,6,5, and 4 available. Now they are showing 10s and 7s also.

The good part of this is that it means we are "almost there!" I'm also happy--couldn't find flights at any decent rates, even coming days early, leaving days late, etc. (the joy of late booking!) I got smart--by driving a couple hours, I have LOTS of open flight times for less than half the cost. Sure, I'll have to pay to park the car, but will save extra night in hotel and have kiddo in school where she belongs!

I cannot believe my luck! I just received word that we have been upgraded from a Cat 9 to Cat 6 (#6560). This couldn't have come at a better time as I've been down in the dumps lately, depsite being on the heels of our cruise. I am sending good wishes that you too will receive some of this pixie dust that was bestowed upon us. I truly can't beleive this. I have already signed up for the FE exchange, although now our stateroom is 6560 instead of 2022. Can't wait!!!

I am leaving the kids in the club and taking the rainforest, hike, jeep tour in St. Croix.

You exchange gifts with everyone!

I know what an extender is but where can I find ideas for gifts??? Thanks!

I ended up buying b/c thought it was for a few families. YIKES, I need to figure out how to change my plan. ;)

Thanks again.

I will make the change on our list. If anybody else has a change in stateroom number, please let me know. Also, there are still a few of you that I do not have room numbers for. I'm guessing you don't have one yet. Just let me know when you know.

They were on the DCL site. They were changing/upgrading people's cabin assignments, and the availability they listed was changed at least 3 times in one day! Currently they are showing 4,5, and 8.

We got our cruise docs today! No upgrade, but it was very exciting to see my luggage tags.

The Final Fish Extender List has been sent. Please look over your information and let me know if it is not correct. Also, I do not have a stateroom number for mommavon or wjbc yet. As soon as I get those, I will forward them.

Ok, today is Feb. 28, so if I'm not too late, I'll sign on to the Fish Extenders. If I'm too late, I do understand. I was planning not to do it till DD asked if we'd have it on this cruise.

The critical points are
Kathryn (50 something), DD Koren (age 18) cabin 7120
This will be our 20th cruise on DCL, 18th cruise on the Magic.

Last night I had a dream about our cruise. My dh and I were eating at Palo. We don't have ressies for it, but after the dream I think it's a sign that I need to try and get brunch ressies once we get on board.

Less than a month to go. So much to do, so little time!!

Oh yeah....you know it's time for another cruise when you wake up and think you're feeling the motion of the ocean! I've dreamed of the ship many times.
