We have friends at WDW this week and we helped plan their trip. Just wondering how the crowds are? Weather?

Thanks
Deb

I spoke to a friend of mine today while she was at MK...she said it is packed to the gills....and it sounded crowded over the phone even....we head out in 9 days...I'm sure the crowds ar just starting to build..

Talked to my sister today - she is staying at POR. Told me parks are jammed - she was not very happy......

Blah, Blah, Blah . . . You can't rain on my parade!

Everyone's got their own perception of "crowded", so what's it really matter? And when was it "crowded"? -- Middle of the day? Weekend? Which park?

Blah, blah, blah. We all have a good game plan at this point, so just keep your optimism up and keep the worrying down.

Go Banana, Go Banana, we'll be there in 1 week!!

Not trying to rain on your parade, just answering the question!

OK, how's this: Talked to my sister today, said parks are empty! Everything a walk-on! Admission was free, as was food! She's staying in the castle - for free! They are giving away $100.00 bills in Epcot, and there was only 9 people in MGM yesterday!

Feel better?

We went around this time last year (2 weeks later) ARGH the crowds, but did we care? NO, have fun!! Expect to miss something, but watching families (especially little ones is awesome-1st timers are the best).

Wow Kevin's sister must know someone...just a joke Kevin.

The other poster was just saying in other words "In Disney who cares?" Enjoy!!

Oh, yes, thanks, that's the kind of perky posts I love to read!!!

By the way, did I mention that I'm celebrating my 40th b-day there, with my 7 year old twins who have never been, and my loving husband!?!

DH and I were at MK this past Saturday (which I guess is technically last week, but...) and I was completely mentally prepared for it to be crazy crowded and it was not at all. We only used one Fast Pass the whole day (Space Mountain) and the longest line we waited in was about 20 minutes at Thunder Mountain. Everything else was quick! We had a super time!

Nice, AladdinsPrincess, glad you had a super time!
I just love this dancing banana, so here's one for each of the seven days until our Disney magic begins . . .

so I guess it is a matter of perception! I used fast pass though, so it wasn't so bad. Most of the big attractions had about an hour wait.

PolyHereWeCome - You're going to have a wonderful birthday !!! I celebrated my 50th last year with all my kids, DH, grandD and a few friends - enough magical memories to last me the next 50 years ! Don't forget to get a birthday pin and wear it if you like attention - my friend was celebrating his 26th and we both had a blast wearing our pins - adorable CMs called me "Princess" all day long - and I was called to the front of one line for a phone call from Goofy wishing me HB - I felt so 'young at heart'!! (which, of course, I am !) :smooth:

Have a magical birthday - crowds or not ! :bday:

bjakmom - Sounds like you had such a magical 50th b-day trip, and thank you so much for the good wishes!!! I'm just BURSTING with excitement, which I figure it a good way to enter my 40s. You bet I'm going to get a birthday button (probably after the kids have gotten through Dumbo)-- and wear it happily.

I've enjoyed every moment of planning this trip and looking forward to every bit of this trip, crowds and all.

Go Banana, Go Banana, 6 days to go . . . and 7 until my b-day.

I can vouch for that. We were there last Satruday too (this past weekend in MK) and it was not that crowded. I was already mentally prepared for it to be sickly crowded and it wasnt. We got there right when it opened. Even the bus from POR only had about 6 other people on it. We were able to to alot of the rides by 1:00pm then headed back for naps and lunch. I really was expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised as well. Guess its the "luck of the draw". Even that night when we went to MGM for Fantasmic and a few rides it wasnt that bad....alot of cheerleaders running around...but that did not affect anything. We caught the 7pm Fantasmick show...got there at 6:30 and got great seats (about 10 rows up somewhat in the middle section).

Good luck. Maybe you will pick parks on the days they arent too crowded. :flower:

I was there last week and it was more crowded than I have ever seen it in my life. there was at least an hour wait on everything even POTC! I went the previous two years at the same time before this year and the crowds were half of what they were last week. We didn't get to do a lot of stuff that we normally love and like (like peter pan's flight, winnie the pooh, snow white, who wants to be a millionaire, and more) because the crowds were so bad and we had 7 day park hoppers! I don't know if i can convince my dh to go back ever i'm sad.
the weather last week was cold, i had to buy a $42 sweatshirt, but it started warming up when we left on saturday.
