3/14/09 Spring Break Aboard the Magic

Hey Lisa,

I called Hyatt first to see if the dates were avail for that night. They only offer so many at that rate. The first time I called I was told no, then No again, then I called the next week and was told yes it was avail. So I booked two rooms at the Choice Level Stay certificate rate. I was told to bring it to the hotel to pay for the room. The room is 200+ per night but the stay certificate is 135.00 + 6 dollars for shipping. You do not have to pay the difference in price. But be sure to ask for the choice stay certificate when calling to book the room to see if the they still have rooms for that night with that rate. I booked the room then logged on to Hyatt stay certificate and purchased the certificate and it should be here any day now. I was not willing to get the certificate untill i knew that it could be used. We will be flying down the day before and staying at the HYatt. I am so excited and really didnt want to feel rushed to get to the port and with the airline with canceled flights and all I just really didnt want to chance it. I have the actual code for the certificate if they give you problems trying to book, so PM me if they are asking for it. Sorry my message was long, just wanted to explain the best I could so you hopefully wont have a problem trying to book your room. Let me know if I can be more of a help. Sending u some pixie dust b/c I sure needed it pixiedust: they made me :furious: the first couple of calls. I kept thinking I am booking 9 mnths away !!! Good luck

Thank you so much that worked perfectly, now I just need to order the certificate. Maybe we will run into you at the hotel.

good to hear that. I am so excited things worked out for you. I know it is far off but I already ordered the certificate so we wouldn't run into any problems. Like they dont offer the certificate to customers or something. I was told that companies buy them for their clients or for employees. And the thought of maybe they get to many calls from people on the dis so they wont offer it anymore. I know I am crazzy. But didnt want to have a problem so i just called booked the hotel and immediately orderd the certificate.

have a good day!!:cool1:

I can relate when you see a good deal take it, as it may not be there tomorrow.

Hi everyone!

I was on the same cruise last spring break (this year) and rebooked onboard for the March 14, 2009. Well, as much fun as it was, we decided cruising isn't really for us. Wanted to let you know we HAD rooms 5022 and 5024, and just cancelled today. They are connecting SPH rooms, so if anyone wants to try to get them, you could call DCL.

Enjoy the cruise!

Amy

I just moved to the 5022 room that was given up this morning. I am excited and scared at the same time. I dont know why but I am:confused3 .

I tired to crab 5024 for my friend but someone grabed it before me.

You might want to check again, I think it is still there.

I thought about changing, but I want a verandah.

Lisa

I checked again and it is avail. And I grabbed it up!! Yea me!!!

That is great.:cool1:

I felt that way when I was able to get one of the obstructed view varandah rooms.

So I broke down and booked airfare last week, I was going to go with DCL air but I have decided to take the Friday off, and I got a good price on Delta, not a direct flight and I am sure it will change but I am ok with tha. I also wanted to lock into a fare as who know what airfare will be like in a few monts. Now I am pretty much just waiting to book excursions. Have no idea on that, as you never know with my kids what they will like to do.

Lisa

Hey everyone! We just booked today for the Mar 14th cruise. How exciting that so many of us are going. It is just Dh and I this time. Grandma is staying with the kiddies as they do not have break until April.

Air Tran has started to release the flights for March, I don't think they have all the fares loaded but it should be in a couple of days, they are expensive though. I have some friends who are heading down the July 4 weekend and they said flights were cheaper from Toronto then Buffalo, I think the airlines have started to realize all of the people from Ontario are going to Buffalo and are really raising the prices.

I found a good fare on Delta from Buffalo so I went with that, but they are not direct flights.

Good Luck finding something.

Lisa

Hi Lisa

We will be flying out from Buffalo or Rochester depending on price. Plan to head down on Wed evening if we can get the AKV CL otherwise it will be Thur.

It was good that we flew down early this year, there were a lot of snow on Sat that caused a large number of flight delay. I believe that's the reason Magic didn't leaving PC until 6:00 pm.

Cheers

We just received our confirmation in the mail today:cool1: It just makes it more real when you start seeing paperwork:goodvibes I am so excited to have a whole week with just DH. I hope we can meet some of you all there! We will be in room 6637.

Hi Lisa

Thanks for the flight info. The price from Airtran is close to Air Canada. Looks like Delta is the best choice right now.

Thanks

I ended up with Delta, not direct flights and I am sure the times will change, but there was no fees for luggage or seats. We are leaving Friday the 13 and coming back on the 2.

Lisa

Just booked Delta, leaving on Wed and coming back Sunday. The fare is very reasonable, not sure what the fuel surcharge will be like next March.

Or what the time will be, our flights have changed twice in a month already, but as long as we get there.

We'll be onboard for our last week-long spring break vacation for some time to come! Changing school schedules for our daughters will make it pretty well impossible for us to get away for a week during the school year. We have conflicts with one Disney Dad's college teaching schedule! So, what better way to finish up some great spring breaks than a Disney cruise. We have connecting Category 9 cabins down on Deck 1 (although we hope to be able to get a better pair sometime before sailing) - Cabins 1074 and 1076. Late seating for dinner now, but we have a request in for main seating. We'll be the two Disney Dads, our DDs ages 5 (5 1/2 by then) and 3 (almost 4 by then) and, if all goes well, a new DD or DS, age somewhere in the infant or toddler stage. We are looking forward to it. Anyone else with similar age children? We're looking for shore excursion ideas. On St. Thomas, we are leaning toward Coral World and Coki Point Beach, or maybe just the Magens Bay beach day. We would love to do something involving sailing, but we are having a tough time finding a sailing excursion that will take our children. Our elder daughter especially loves to sail. See you all on board!!! :goodvibes

2DisneyDads. . .check out Palo brunch on sea days! I would much rather do the brunch than dinner. . . both are wonderful. . .on our 2nd Cruise a friend invited me to join her and her DH for brunch (for some reason my DH wasn't invited). . .it was incredible! My DH and I went to dinner at Palo's and all I could talk about was brunch. . .our next Cruise (March 2007) we booked brunch and dinner. . .we are looking forward to both again this March (if we have to choose one. . it will be brunch)
