3/14/09 Spring Break Aboard the Magic

I have a 15 yr old daughter!! Her name is Megan.

Welcome to the boards. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise.

We booked a GTY 12 cabin and were bumped to a CAT 10. I would also like a window, but I am extremely happy to have a CAT 10. I don't spend much time in the room anyway! I don't want to sleep this trip. I don't want to waste a minute of my trip.

I am going to get DH's suitcase out tomorrow. He is repairing my parents floor. They had a leak and their floor in the laundry room is ruined. This project will keep him busy for a few days.

This week is going to fly by......hope everyone is ready & packed!!

I've also got a 6 yr old son (Wilson) as well as a 3 year old daughter. This will be the first time my daughter will get to participate in the Oceaneer's Club (we've been on two previous 3 day Disney cruises on the Wonder. Is your son planning on spending much time in the Oceaneer's Club? I'd love to give my son the name of someone else to look for and play with. Oh, by the way, we are from Memphis, TN.

Yes, my 4 yr old daughter and my 6 yr old son will be in the Oceaneer's Club. Their activities look like a lot of fun. My son's name is Jeremy. Jeremy is in Kindergarten this year. I am so glad to have learned about you and hope the kids will enjoy each other.

My 15 year old daughter's name is Ashley. We currently live in the Kansas City area but recently moved from California (SF Bay Area). She is very excited for the cruise and the teen activities. She likes the fact that they are into the wee hours of the night. I am so happy to see that there are other 15 year olds going along with us.

We have started packing as we are heading to Orlando on Wednesday morning. It is so hard to pack with a 9 month old. Formula, bottles, diapers... We will have so much fun though.

I'll start getting things together in our guest room. If our sweet little dog sees suitcases, she starts to fret! Suitcase will come out on Thursday.

Our dd has the class pet at our house this weekend. It is a rabbit. Lavernious "poops-a-lot" Rodopolous. . .what a name for this rabbit! Our puppy is very curious of it.

I've got about 3 families on their way for lunch. Take care.

Welcome aboard to the new ones on this thread. This is my family's 4 Disney cruise. Someone asked about how to get an upgrade. Sometimes they just happen or your TA works it out. On our cruise in 07, our TA got us an upgrade to a veranda room! It was so nice but we didn't stay in the room much but still it was a great surprise!

The Magic is docked at Key West right now. I love watching the ships....my dd's think I am weird.

Thinking about packing some today.....wish we could leave Thursday night. Oldest DD has a golf match at 3:30 on Thurs. She won't be home until around 8 or 9 so....no leaving early for us

candizfan......apparently our dd's have arranged a spot to meet for the sail away party. I am so gald they were able to meet before the cruise!

I can't believe how much I have to do in the next few days. I am stressing tonight.

But I think it is always this way for me.

What a morning. I really don't like having to "spring" my clocks ahead. It makes getting up so much harder....then when I realized that Orlando is ANOTHER hour ahead of us.....I was really tired So, Friday I will lose another hour of sleep!!! I need to go to bed really early tonight!

Well, time is ticking down. Tomorrow is my spa day, nails & toes, haircut then I start packing! Husband Dave has a long day of business travel, 5 hour drive to a client and back home 5 hours!!!

We have been having huge amounts of rain so now the talk is back to floods. Just like in 2008. First we had the winter that would never quit, then spring started to sneak in but now rain and floods. Florida and the sunny Caribbean is what I need.

Just read on All Ears web site that the ship yards started building the new DCL ships.(Probably also on the DIS) That means this cruise could very well be our last on the Magic. That is so sad, I love the Magic. We have to miss 2010 due to our daughter's marching band trip to Walt Disney World! Who would have guessed a Disney trip would be changed because of another Disney trip!

I will have to savor this cruise.

Thanks for the reply. I told my son about your son, Jeremy, and he's excited to know someone that will be his age and in the Oceaneer's Club. When we told my son he had a friend to look for, my daughter Molly Kate (3) asked what her "friends" name is. What is your daughter's name? As you mentioned, hopefully they play well together but that is all we can do as parents is try to make things work as well as possible.

4 days and counting til we leave for Orlando and we haven't started packing yet ...

What a busy week!!! One dd has a track meet today. Tomorrow we have to pack. Thursday the other dd has a golf match. Then Friday we are leaving at 5 AM!!

I went to the bank and got some $1 bills for tipping, toll road & more tipping

candizfan.....did you talk to your dd? Mine is excited. I will try to be with her when she is looking for your dd, if I can keep up with her. If not, I will be on deck 10 watching the sailaway. I already know what I am wearing to board the ship....I'll pm you on that

Not much family time tonight. I ran back and forth to the neighbours, in the pooring rain, to get the laundry done since the dryer part has not arrived. We did get some stuff organized tonight and will finish tomorrow.

I have no idea what I will be wearing but it will be clean and dry thanks to my neighbours.

We are leaving on Thursday after work.

My daughter's name is Katelyn (4). She is very excited for the cruise. Katelyn loves new friends and is very outgoing. She is a social butterfly!

We are heading to Orlando in the morning ~ oh, did I mention before the sun comes up! How are we going to carry all of these bags?

Only a few more days until we are relaxing in the warm sun. It is really cold at our house today.

It has been a crazy week for us, but we are packed and all of my must do work is done so the plan is to head to Buffalo tomorrow after the girls finish school and then we are flying out on Friday. Can't believe it is almost here.

Looks like the shuttle launch has been delayed today, they are hoping to reschedule for tomorrow or Friday is the latest, so if you are in Cape Canaveral be prepared.

We're almost packed. A few errands today (can you believe my check engine like came on in the car yesterday afternoon. . .going to the dealership this a.m.!), work, taking Stacy for a manicure (a special treat for trips!) and then home to cook dinner and finish packing.

Hi Everyone... we just got off a back to back on the Magic and had a fantastic time! I am sure you all are going to have a BLAST this week. Would anyone be willing to help us continue a running gag we have going with our favorite server in Palo, Roberto?

Either go up to him and tell him "Dave and Michael told you to ask him for the free drink... or just tell him that we've got our eyes on him."

We had such a fun time the entire two weeks and he made some funny comments about Disboards, etc. He is a super nice and funny guy and we told him we would haunt him from land.

If you have Palo reservations and don't have a favorite server, give him a try.

Headed out this evening. We learned years ago to fly in the day BEFORE the cruise just in case of flight delays, weather, etc....

We'll spend the night at the Orlando Airport hotel and then be ready to get on the Disney Cruise bus tomorrow!

Tomorrow at this time we'll be about to set sail!
