I do have to say, this was one of the most enjoyable days of our vacation.
Word of wisdom, if anyone who reads this is a Connections member, buy the Vacation Kingdom Lunch Voucher for $30.50 (includes appetizer, entree, non-alcoholic beverage, dessert, tax and tip) and head to Rainforest Cafe at AK, its well worth it!
We started things off with the Rainforest Pita Quesadillas ($8.49), split the Primal Steak ($22.99) and added on eight Nile Shrimp Enbrochette (the waitress worked her magic for this, really with the voucher we should have only gotten plain old shrimp for $6.00 more). Topped it off with Gorillas in the Mist ($5.99). The meal was great except for the kid puking next to us, but what can you do?
AK crowds were not bad at all, we basically walked on to every ride, even did Primevial Whirl twice in a row. I would highly recommend AK on Sundays! The longest wait we had was when everyone made a mad dash for Dinosaur because of a sudden down pour.
After changing at CSR, we headed downtown, where we shopped and sent it all back to the room (I love staying on property!). One place I didn't see, but forgot to look for, was the new bath shop in DTD. Anyone know where it is?
Then DisneyQuest for the night for the first time. What I've learned at DisneyQuest...no need to work out the day you visit, you get a full week's worth there! All the attractions were great, but I especially enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean (no sign of George in this one
) and the Cheesecake Factory....mmm, Snickers cheesecake. Another "meal" that should be split.
Back to CSR to prepare for tomorrow, EPCOT and California Grill for Fantasy in the Sky...still to come.
