That's actually a grand idea. Actually, I don't see why a 1BR at AKK wouldn't work out too.

Plus a 1 bedroom in Kidani would have 2 bathrooms.

With the children being those ages, I would definitely go with the 2 bdrm rather than 2 separate studios. You will love having a full kitchen and the w/d.

I think that the OKW 1-bedroom is a good idea except that I'm not sure if you can have 6 in it, even with one under 3. Someone in another thread was saying that with the one-bedrooms that sleep 5, the limit is just 5, not 5 + 1 under 3. I would check into that before planning on it.

Personally, I can't imagine 15 days in two studios with four kids. We use the kitchen and laundry too much, even with our one-and-only child. Have you looked at the point costs for a 2-bedroom at OKW? Or a value 2-bedroom at AKV? That would be so nice for you guys.

AKV (but not value villas), BLT and OKW all have a one bedroom villa that sleeps five plus one under the age of three because they all have one king bed, one queen sleeper sofa and one twin sized sleeper chair and a pack and play for the infant.

BCV, BWV, SSR, VWL one bedroom villas do not have the sleeper chair. DVC will allow you a fifth person but not a sixth, even if under the age of three. You will need to provide the sleeping space, linens, towels, for the fifth person.

No, I don't think you would have trouble getting an OKW 1 bedroom at 7 months, but if you want the assurance of knowing you can get a 1 bedroom, I would book at AKV/Kidani. However, if the OKW 1 bedroom gives you an extra night, then you can try to swap for that at the 7 month mark. I assume you wouldn't be buying airfare more than 7 months ahead.

They are 2,4,7 and 9 so we would have to split the adults, having only stayed in hotel rooms before we're not sure how much we would use the living space but the washing machine would definitely be helpful. Just can't help thinking that 15 nights would be so much better than 10

Since your youngest child is under the age of three you can fit into a 1 bedroom that offers a sleep chair. They sleep 5 + 1 under the age of 3 in the pack and play. I'm not sure exactly which ones those are off the top of my head.

OKW has the biggest 1BRs on property. I would pick that resort on size of rooms alone.

Given the recent reports of a toddler falling off a balcony while her dad was in the shower, I'd avoid the 2 studio situation. Better to keep everyone together in a 1BR or 2 BR where you have multiple eyes on the kiddies.

I would try for a value two bedroom at Jambo . They are the cheapest 2 bedrooms on Disney property. This would allow you to stay longer. Also, there are a few other tricks to maximizing your points. If your dates are flexible, go in the second half of August when the point costs decrees. Arrive on a Sunday to avoid the higher weekend point costs. There is also the option of renting points from another member to lengthen your stay.

The addition of a kitchen is also a great way to reduce food costs that can be used in other areas.

You need the home resort advantage to get the value villas at AKV. They need to be booked at 11 months out. So if the OP was looking at early August, they might already be too late.

Plus the value villas do not have the sleeper chair in the living room.

At the very least I would go for the 1 BR at Kidani which will have the second bathroom over the same size unit at OKW. It may cost the same points as 2 studios but you would all be together. Some days at AKV and then some in a 2 bedroom at OKW would be my ideal choice because going from a smaller to larger unit seems to be a better choice. Moving from one to the other is not that hard even if you don't have a car. We had bell services pick up our stuff at OKW and then deliver to rooms at BLT later that day. Just went about our day and checked in after going to a park for awhile. They kept food in the cooler so that was also no problem. Having a place to relax in the evening made for a better trip and I would think that with a trip as long as your are planning it would be even more important.

I'm not studio material and for two weeks to boot, I'd rather stay home! Even if we're family we need privacy, more than one bathroom and room to move around! We travel generally 6 sometimes 8, it's always a two bedroom!

For those of you who can extend their vacation by using studios, more power to you!
