Has anyone had any problems going through security with a quart size bag of liquids? I'm not sure if it was this site or another but someone said security was confiscating sunblocks. This doesn't make any sense to me if the tsa is suppose to allow the quart size zip lock bag with those travel size, toothpaste, cream, make up,sunblock, etc. Also has anyone had problems with things like benefiber powder and baby powders, full size going through security? Some rules and allowances seem very confusing. I just don't want to be holding up the line or delaying the start of my vacation

As long as your liquids are in a quartz size bag you should be fine. The limit for carry-on is 3.4 oz. I've carried baby powder with no problem and it wasn't in a separate quartz bag. Hope this helps!

I've had no problem with sunscreen as long as it's below the limit.

Anything powder does not need to be checked. In fact, I switched my makeup from liquid to mineral powder just because of travel and have had no issues at all.

Just make sure everything fits comfortably within your 1 quart bag. Any other items that are not liquidy or gelatanous do not have to be placed into your 1 quart bag.

Then someone was reporting incorrectly. Either their sunblock was not inside the "3-1-1" quart-sized zip-top bag, or the container itself was larger than the allowable 3.4 ounces (100 ml).

Just FYI, sunblock is NOT considered a medication by TSA, so you cannot declare a larger bottle/tube to get around the 3-1-1 rule. People do try to do this with great regularity.

(Personally, I do think it should be considered a medicine for this purpose, but unfortunately, I don't make the rules.)
