I’ve done the dessert party a few times but I’ve only ever done the first show. And I’ve always lined up at 6:30 to be the first, or second person to check in. Considering doing the second show and I was wondering what time people usually start lining up at the podium for the initial check-in where you get your bands and pick your table?

Not to rain on your parade, but we had a horrible experience with doing the dessert party for the second show. The first WOC was delayed, so they held us behind GRR for at least a hour past our scheduled time with no place to sit. When we were finally led to our table, they basically threw our food boxes at us, we got ONE drink and had to eat in the dark while the show went on.

I know WOC usually runs on time, but that one experience made me vow to only ever do first showing from then on. I was so tired from a long day at the parks and was almost crying at the end, I wanted to sit so bad. And the cast members wouldn’t tell us anything other than we had to wait where we were.

Sorry you had that experience :(

I’ve done the WOC dessert party 3 times and never had any issues like this.
Sounds like a very rare and unfortunate experience

Im sorry to hear that. Was it recent?

No. This was in 2022. But I really had to be convinced to try the experience again. It was most definitely NOT magical and when you consider how much you pay for the experience, I was very disappointed. I did it again last year, but for the first show. At least then, if the show is delayed, I would be sitting down and not standing on rough concrete in one spot for over an hour. We couldn’t even sit on the ground because of the way that path is paved. And we couldn’t go anywhere else because the park was closed by that point.

Again, I'm sorry that you experienced that. While Fantasmic is prone to technical errors, and fireworks can be cancelled for a variety of reasons, it is very rare for WOC to be delayed, especially by the amount of time you are describing. I'm glad you were able to go back and enjoy the show without a delay.
