2nd guessing my "down" day

we are going in april and my "down" day was going to by typhoon lagoon and then back to the resort to just hang out....now I see MK has EMH 10pm-12am. Now I am thinking about taking a nap after the water park and heading over to MK for the extended hours....so now I have 2 questions:

1. I can go to a water park and MK on the same day? I have the water park and more ticket.
2. Does anyone think this is a good plan?

1 I can not see why you could not if you have park hopper I think you will have to go back to your hotel to change busses and you may want to take a nap as that could be a very long day

2 yes I think this is a fine idea if you take a break but I do not know how tired you will be or how long your vacation is how much sleep you need things like that but if you think you can do it go for it

You will need to use a regular park day to get into MK; entrance into a water park is a "separate" venue (i.e., you can't "hop" to or from a water park, you need to use a water park admission for TL and then a regular park admission for MK). IF you have the days on your park ticket, or you can add it for minimal cost, I think it's a SPLENDID idea! We LOVE LOVE LOVE Magic Kingdom late magic hours!

A water park is not a "down day." Water parks are just as exhausting as amusement parks, if not more. I think you will be too exhausted to do both (and I am a extremely active person). A "down day" would be sleeping in, hanging around the hotel, maybe going shopping, taking a nap, but would NOT include a water park.

It sounds like a good use of your tickets, however, is this your only free day? I don't know how long you're going for, so it's hard to say. I know the trips where we've done a park every single day were fun, but exhausting. We always need at least one day where we feel like we don't have to be anywhere. If it's a short trip I'd do it. If it's a week or more, I'd just do TL and hang back at the resort.

We LOVE evening EMH at MK. We would hate to miss them! I think your plan sounds good!

Going for 8 nights, planning on arrival day as a non park day so yes this would be the only "down" day....my plan would be to get a later start back to MK the following day.....so we would sleep in the next morning.

We never take a "down" day. We go to the park every day at opening, go back to the room around 1-2 for a break and back to the parks around 4-5 until close. We'll rest when we get home! I say go for it. Park tickets cost to much not to use them as much as you can!
