2nd Adult in room check in instead of me?

Scenario:

I have a reservation in my name for a room with 2 adults. The second adult's plane is arriving 5 hours before me.

Can I add the second adult's name to the reservation so they can check in when they arrive, and then when I arrive can I go to the front desk and just get a key to the room?

You should be able too if both names are on reservation.

Yes, you can. You can even do it if the second adult is arriving a different day.
