I know the 4th July will be crazy and I intend to avoid the parks! But what about the whole weekend? I understand the 5th July has been assigned as the Federal Holiday - will it be as busy as the 4th? I'm planning to go to Epcot on the Friday and Saturday and Seaworld on the Monday.

We've been to Disney twice before for the 4th of July - and we'll be back again this year!!! IMO, it really isn't that bad. What we find that works for us is to get to the "early entry" park as early as possible. Of course, use Fastpass!! Around 12:30 or 1:00 pm, hop on the bus back to the hotel and take a nap/swim break. Around 5:00, we go back and stay as late as we want.

On all of our visits during the summer, this worked really well for us! We were able to see everything we wanted - the kids got to ride their favorites many times, and the lines weren't really that long.

We'll be at Epcot this year for 4th of July - and from what I remember from last time, they have a fantastic fireworks show there!

Enjoy!!!

Since J4 is on a Sunday this year, it will be beastly crowded the entire weekend. Expect MK to close at capacity on J4, and possibly (probably) on J3 as well. Epcot will be less crowded than MK, but you need to plan for and expect huge crowds. As Magic2000 noted, it's workable, but every day will be crowded. (That goes for SeaWorld as well ... )

We were there last 4th of july the fireworks were amazing.

We planned our summer trip this year over the 4th just to see Sorcery in the Sky at MGM. I'll be getting there early for that!!

SC, or anyone that's been on July 4th,

My DH has just decided that we ought to go a few days early and enjoy the AKL. YEA :bounce: We won't be going into the parks until July 6th but we'll be arriving on the 4th. Do they show a special fireworks in addition to the regularly scheduled ones or is the regular one just enhanced? We're wanting to go down to the beach at the Poly to watch them.

We are at WDW for the 4th of July every year. DS was just saying he wanted to go to EPCOT for the fireworks again this year.::yes::

The fireworks on the 4th of july are different They go off all the way around the park. We are not normally all that impressed with fireworks, while we enjoy fireworks we can take them or leave them. Most of the time we would rather go on the rides during the fireworks since the lines are so short during that time. But the 4th was great! This year we are going to disney then a week on the magic, we get off the cruise on the 3rd of july & are staying an extra 2 nts at disney just so we can see the fireworks on the 4th.
