I will be going in May, first trip to BLT and we decided to invite both sets of parents, and since neither of them wanted to share a room, we reserved both a 2br and a studio. MS said that they will put down that the 2 reservations are traveling together. But is there anything I should do to make sure that we have rooms close together. I don't need them next to each other, but it would be nice to be on the same floor. Should I do online check in or wait till we arrive at the resort. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You want to make sure the request is on your reservation, and especially that it is there about 10 days before arrival when you actually check in.

Try to check in as early as possible and let the person at the desk know of your request first thing.

Be expecting your room not to be ready until 4PM - you may luck out but don't expect both the request and early check in!

Good luck!

Getting the room close together is only a reqeust. To give yourself the best chance:

1. Make sure both reservations have a note requesting that they be close to each other. Call MS and make sure that was corrctly done. Wait until late afternoon to call so that there are less callers. More likely to get someone who will actually check and be helpful to you.

2. Arrive as early in the day as you can on check in day, and politely repeat the request at check in. I do not think online check in will make a difference. Perhaps others will venture their opinions on that.

3. Keep other requests to a minimum. The more requests, the less likely you are to get any of them.

Good luck.

you did not say what the total was in your party but if you have 8 you could set it up as a grande gathering which has some extra room coordiation that goes a long with it.

Sorry to hijack the thread but we will be staying in a 2 bedroom and a studio this November at Kidani, total of 13 (one under 3) and I was curious what the advantages of becoming a "grand gathering" are? I thought it gave you access to certain tours that we will not be doing so I didn't bother becoming a grand gathering. How do you become one and is it an extra cost?

I have the same thing booked as you and am hoping to be close to each other. I will let you know how it goes we are going in 5 wks. I have a grand gathering res number, but did not coordinate it with res. So far I have seen no benefits to being registered as a grand gathering.
