We haven't closed on our contract yet for BWV, just passed ROFR. Want to book in May '08, 2brm. Boardwalk view. How hard does anyone think it will be to ressie then ? How many 2 bdrs. at resort? A newbie, still learnin the ropes!

You cannot book May 2008 until June. You should not have a problem getting it.

This will be during Flower and Garden time, though, so I wouldn't wait too long after your 11 month window opens up, just to be sure you get what you want.

Just a FYI, all the 2BR at BWV are a 1BR plus a studio (otherwise known as a lock off).

There are about 150 2Brs at BWV (any of which can be a 1BR and studio). You have standard view rooms (less points, about 20% of resort) and preferred. Preferred is divided into boardwalk view (about 15% of the rooms) and everything else preferred called pool or garden view (points are the same for any preferred). For any time of year, you face the risk of not getting standard or boardwalk view unless you reserve 11 months out. For May, you can usually easily get a pool or garden preferred 2BR even 8 or 9 months out.

I just also found out that I need to ressie 11 months on the day of the last day I want to reserve. Say I want to go May 4 - 11, need to reserve this June 11. Sound right?

I call and got a 2 bedroom Boardwalk for end of September into October 2007.
I called about 3 weeks ago. The reservation says
Boardwalk view (which is what I asked for).
We are very excited about that !

You should be fine.

My ROFR passed 2/14 and I am closing next week. It takes 4-6 weeks from ROFR passing to closing. Assuming you pass next week, you should close in mid-April. Since you can't make the ressie until June anyhow, no worries at all.

From what I hear, May isn't super-busy so calling 11 mos from the checkout date should be okay. Oct/Dec, and of course Easter, NYE, Christmas, t-giving, you have to call day-by-day to get your reservation. Meaning, you want to book Oct 1-5. You have to call Sept 1 for Oct 1, Sept 2 for Oct 2, etc.

Thanks all for all your info! I am trying to find a map of BWV to see what buildings/rooms would be BW view. Anyone have any info or perhaps a map? And any suggestions on which locations are most desirable for the BW view?
