Just curious and a question for the experts out there....

How many square feet is a 1bd at GFV? What about a 2bd at BLT?

We are thinking about a 2bd at BLT but may try to switch at the 7 month mark to the 1bd GFV, if available. BLT is our home resort.

We have 2 adults and 2 little kids (ages 5 and 2). We really want to walk to MK, especially while the kids are little, but think that it may be worth the trade off for a nicer room at GFV (subject to availability, of course). How much nicer is the GFV? Any thoughts between the 2bd std BLT and 1bd GFV?

They are similar in points, and we have 179 banked points to burn... But we like to burn in the most cost effective manner possible ;), thus the std room option at BLT.

Thank you in advance!

800ish versus 1100ish.

Do you normally book a 2b for your family? It's hard to downsize. How much nicer is relative.

I personally love VGF. The master bedroom is huge. I like the decor, the eating area works great for my family, and my kids like the view of the monorail.

We spend about 30% of the time in the room, another 20% in the resort and the rest in the parks. My kids love the pool and kiddie splash area. We've only done RD 2x, EVER! And we stay for the MK evening parade and fireworks maybe 1 to 2 times a trip. So for us, walking versus monorail is not a big issue, even with the stroller and all the kids' stuff.

Thank you thank you! We usually don't stay in a 2bd but we have banked points to burn before they expire-- therefore my whimsical thought regarding VGF one bed.

We may just stick with the 2bd std at bay lake.. Much bigger and only 5 more points a night over the VGF 1bd. I know VGF is super nice but my kids are too little to appreciate it. Someday and thank you!

I personally love the BLT theme and decor. It's like sleeping IN tomorrow land. I love the wall art and the smell of the lobby. Grand Floridian is just that to me.... Grand, but it's not more " Disney" than BLT.

Also I cannot CANNOT get over my love of walking to MK. Seriously. It's so nice to just stroll home with a sleepy little guy after fireworks.
.

With little kids who aren't the best sleepers, it's probably best to stay at BLT/BWV for the easy walk to the parks until they are teenagers and you can't wake them up. At least, that's what I've heard about teenagers!

Just trying to decide what to do with the extra banked points.. We have 30-50 extra banked BLT points that need to be used if we only book the 1bd std.
