So how many crazy locals will skip school and work to go to the park on Wednesday?

Gonna be in La Paz Mexico, about to board our research ship on a cruise to the Gulf of California. No 24 hour Disney for me :sad1:

With 24 hours, no need to skip work or school. That's the brilliance of it. People can go before, after, whenever.

I will probably be there at some point. I wouldn't be surprised if the Park maxes out at some point.

But that's the problem with it, it's hard to go to class when you stay up all night.

I could see attendance going up at 5 and back down at 10. Maxing out, no way.

I'm not missing anything, but I'll be there. I won't have classes Wednesdays and start late Thursdays, so I plan to be at the park during the day, sleep in the afternoon/evening, then be there until it closes. As a major night owl, I think it'll be fun!

DH and I are coming all the way from the UK to do a California trip in late Feb and we chose the 29th Feb and 1st March to do our Disney days as we thought they would be quiet, now I'm a bit concerned that it's going to be rammed! On the plus side does this mean they'll put on more shows and fireworks even though they probably weren't on the original schedule?

I'm in disagreement with your logic here, though. The Park is open from 6am - 6am.

If you have an AP:
If you go to class on the 29th, you can go to the Park after class for a few hours. If you have class on the 1st, you can go to DL on the 29th for a while and then go home to sleep before class. If you have class both days, I suppose it depends upon when your classes are, but I have no doubt that a local AP student can figure out some time to go to DL in a 24 hour period... Unless its finals week, which it's not.

And this is what makes the special day not useful. If you have an AP, you can go on the day before or after just as well. Sure it won't have early or late hours. But that is why you get an AP to go more often when it's available to use.

Honestly if you have to be to work at 8am, are you going to wake up at 5am so you can go park, go in DLfor 30-45 minutes then race back to your car and join the traffic to get to work? Or just sleep in 30-45 more minutes?

If you have to work or go to school, and mind you most school and work schedule by a huge margin are M-F when looking at Disney guests, why don't you just wait until a Friday when staying up late to be in the parks since you have the next day off.

Todays as with any day, there are more kindergarteners in DL than college students.

Being in the middle of the week in the middle of a city, they'll probably do some nighttime entertainment that they wouldn't normally do midweek in February, but they really probably can't do too much after 10:00 because of noise. Also nowhere does it say the entire park will be open all night.

I am an AP holder and a student, and I will probably be there at some point during the 24 hours. I have class on both W and Th, but for me only a couple hours of sleep on one night will be worth it for a once in a lifetime chance to be at DL at like 3am! Remember, students only live off of limited sleep anyway! :upsidedow

LOL But that's exactly why it IS a special day. You can't go to Disneyland at 3am on any other day. You can't do it on the day before or the day after. On this one 24 hour period, you can. And if you are a local AP holder who has to work or has school, you can go be part of the unique day for a few hours. On this one day.

Well, of course you wouldn't, but you might go after work. Or, go home after work, have dinner with family, and then go for a few hours because you can. Or, you could go home. Spend your evening with your family. Go to sleep early, get up at 2am, go play at the Park for a few hours, then go home and get ready for work. You have 24 hours to swing in a DL visit any way you want -- and I think lots of people will do so.

Because you want to be in the Park on a special day at a time when you will not likely not be able to be in the Park, at least not "normally."

I'm not a local, but we are honestly considering a quick week day visit.....lol
