29th July 2015 - Disney Dream - Why Dip Once When You Can Dip Twice??

We are a quiet group:confused3. Is anyone doing a pre or post DW stay? We are staying post a the Tree Houses.:cool1:

Not for us. But I shouldn't complain, since we're heading to Aulani a few days after we arrive at home. Bring on the jet lag!

Is anyone arranging FE? I would but have never been on a Disney cruise and do not fully understand it. Are my kids too old? They are 12 and 14.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin. Other information you would like to share such as first names, ages of child participants, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one seems to be coming forward to organize a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread.

There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS. If anyone is interested in doing this, feel free to contact me for some suggestions.

Just booked! Me, my DH, DS (14), DS (7) and DD will celebrate her 4th birthday on the cruise!!

First time cruiser here! We are traveling w kids ages 10, 8, and 6. Plus the grandparents. Don't know anything about FE but it sounds fun if someone is organizing? We are getting ready to book our adventures, services, etc so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! One thing I can't decide is early seating or late seating at dinner. Does anyone have a strong opinion either way. I am leaning towards late seating and using the dine and play for the kids...

:welcome:We like early seating. It is closer to the time we eat at home. When I eat so late at night I tend to just want to go to bed:(.

We've done both early and late seating. Late seating is better for seeing the sights, but led to lots of over eating since I was hungry about 5ish. I prefer early dining. I made better choice and enjoyed what I ate more.

If anyone is interested the Food Network is going to be airing something about the Disney Dream on the 27th @8pm. Not sure what it is?

Hi there this will be our first cruise. Since we are not sure if we will do it again we decided to make it count and splurged on Concierge:yay:. This is how we could book a Cabana
From what I understand all 41 concierge rooms are booked which is why there were no cabanas. Concierge books even before Platinum

Is this typical? I convinced my DH to book concierge due to our total inexperience in cruising. I liked the thought of having my hand held during the experience :teeth:
But not sure if I would have done it otherwise though.

Pretty much, yes. If it is a slow season there might be more cabanas but the Platinum would book, then Gold, then Silver and then first timers. Enjoy your concierge level!

Thank you, so far it has been a good experience and I have been told that I may never want to cruise w/o it again! They may be right:scratchin

We are leaning toward late seating. The kids are pretty much the same ages as yours and I also plan on using the D&P option.
