We have booked our disney vacation for the first week of December. I also plan on getting pregnant in may/June which would make me about 26-29 weeks pregnant while at disney world.

Am I going to be miserable? I don't really want to postpone either the trip or TTC so that option is out. I just want to hear other experiences so I know what to expect.

We are leaving the Saturday after thanksgiving and returning the following Saturday. We are probably going to fly but now 100% sure yet since plane ticket pricing isn't available for our returning flight yet.

I'm hoping since we are going in December that I won't need to worry about the heat too much. What are your thoughts? Anyone been pregnant while at WDW?

I know I have a while before our vacation but I love planning stuff and I just can't make myself wait lol.

I got pregnant last June and traveled to Disney in early December, so I was about 26 weeks along. It was far from miserable. The weather was warm (highs in the 80s) but the mornings and evenings were so cool that I never felt hot.

Disney really is the ideal place for a pregnant traveler - plenty of (free) ice water, plenty of food locations, plenty of shade, and plenty of places to sit and rest. I have been very active throughout my entire pregnancy, so I think that helped a lot with the walking. When I stopped to think about it, I definitely noticed I was more tired than usual, so I napped in the room while the rest of my group was at the pool during our midday break.

I would wait until you are actually pregnant and then figure out the logistics. Not everything always goes according to plan.

The only thing I would caution against would be planning a trip during your first trimester. If it takes awhile for you to get pregnant, and you don't get pregnant until say, October, you might be in the midst of morning/afternoon/evening sickness. I felt great traveling at 26 weeks, but it would have been unpleasant traveling weeks 8-10. All women are different, and I've had friends who felt horribly ill through their 4th month. If I want to travel during my next pregnancy, I'll do it in my 2nd trimester just to be safe.

My sister went with her 15mo old while 7mo pregnant and had a great trip.

But don't count on getting pregnant in "May/June" as a sure thing. DH and I have been at it for 18months and none of our tests have come back anything but 'normal' no fertility issues or health problems. Sometimes it just doesn't happen 'on the first try'... Or the second, or third, 10th, 17th, etc

Best of luck tho! Hopefully you have it easier than us :)

I went to Disneyland for 3 days for my birthday, at 32 weeks pregnant, it was summer but of course summer in Anaheim is more similar to December in Orlando. ;)

One thing is *definitely* take a break in the early afternoon, *before* you realize you really need one. The first day there, I realized at about 2:00 that I was tired and needed a nap, and by the time we got across the park and back to our hotel, it was 2:45 and I had pretty much melted down. The other days we ate lunch around 12:00-12:30 and headed back for a break immediately after and that worked much better.

I've gone at 11 weeks and 15 weeks and was fine both trips. Drank a lot of water and had lots of lots of lemon drops and sour candy handy for when I was feeling sick to my stomach. It totally depends on your body, with my first I would have been fine at 29 weeks, but with my second I would have not been able to go because of some random complications. Good luck TTC!

:thumbsup2 Even if you do get pregnant on schedule, you never know if your pregnancy is going to be smooth. With my DD I was hit with severe fatigue, high blood pressure and put on bed rest for the last three months. I would buy trip insurance or not book flights until I knew everything was smooth sailing...

Thanks everyone for the responses. I know all to well that nothing goes as planned, unfortunately. I lost 2 babies last year and it took me six months to get pregnant with my first. I'm just trying to stay positive :)

If I don't get pregnant when I plan I will probably think about waiting on the baby plans. I definitely don't want to go while I have morning sickness. Thanks again for your suggestions...very appreciated!

Amen! Life happens when you are making plans. There is no gurantee you will be pregnant at that time and I would wait until your pregnant to figure out things. Good Luck! I am so sorry for your pregnancy losses last year. I will keep you in my thoughts!!!!

I'm so sorry for your losses. One thing that I learned over three years of infertility and loss is not to plan your life around "what ifs". I would say go ahead and make your plans for December, and just make sure that you can cancel within a reasonable window if you can't go for whatever reason (with my DD, we had a Hawaii "babymoon" planned at 27 weeks, which we had to cancel due to unanticipated complications).

Hopefully, you will get pregnant right away, have a smooth pregnancy, and get some fabulous baby bump pictures at WDW. Good luck to you!

I went when I was pregnant with my son in 2011. I was in my second trimester (5 months) and felt great.... And barely looked pregnant. I was able to get around just fine and the heat wasn't an issue because it was early June. Only difference was I couldn't go on the big rides.

Now my recent pregnancy with my daughter was a completely different pregnancy, lol. I was nauseous until I was 16 weeks, and in my last trimester I felt the best. But my sciatic was awful all throughout. I do hair for a living, so I was always on my feet. I cannot imagine being pregnant in Disney with my last pregnancy lol. Energy wise I would have been fine, it's just all of the walking around would have been tough to do in Disney.

You know your body best. So I say go and have fun, but you never know how you will feel and how far a long you will be. All I have to say is of you get the morning sickness and you are still in the first trimester when you go, you'll need zofran. Ha.

Quick off topic advice-every other day! My DH and I have also struggled, with no medical reason, and once we tried this we got pregnant quickly.

To the OP, I have been pregnant twice in Disney (during the same pregnancy). The first time was last May, and I wasn't aware until I came home. No problems, thankfully, I was just more tired than usual and blamed it on the heat. We went back in October, and were there from 24-26 weeks pregnant and had a great trip. I carried my Nook in my camera bag and had lots of quiet time in the shade! I simply took it easy, we did short days and drank lots of water. Good luck!!

This.

I hope everything goes perfectly for you during your pregnancy, but don't overlook the possibility of issues. You don't want to be out a lot of money due to something out of your control.
