Any info would be greatly appreciated..

Uhh... you don't want to know... a friend of ours went to get it cleaned, and found out it was separating from the house...

Tens of thousands of dollars later, they have now a new chimney, new brickwork, and a brand new gas stove... since the wood fireplace didn't work.

Thanks for the info though!

Wow, C.Ann! With your recent posts, it sounds like you're revamping the house. :teeth:

Who wants to bank roll me??????????:teeth:

I had the chimney sweeped fireplace and flue with inspection $99. Then of course we needed a screen cap (to keep out critters), a collar seal, and had to have it all sealed. Total=$211.95

Now for the bad part, the liner to the fireplace itself was cracked. It comes in 3 pieces and the total for that is $750 installed. For a cheep fireplace that's pretty steep so we are going to see if we can't get something to replair the crack itself.
