Wow. a college student!
I hope your daughter has a great college experiance. Hopefully her room will be decorated with tons of Disney Stuff. My dorm room was.
It also looks like you had a great time in Disney.
I'm back...wow, life just catches up with you sometimes! But, I am back now and determined to finish this trip report...
Today was the midpoint of our trip at Disney. And the inevitable happened...Mr. and Mrs. Happy turned into Mr. and Mrs. Grumpy. Seems like everything he said just rubbed me the wrong way and likewise I'm sure. So off to a theme park we went anyway...what was I thinking?
Now I had warned DH that Toy Story was closed for refurb...did he remember? Had he even listened? I don't know...but he was not happy that it wasn't open -- like it was my fault. I actually think he wasn't feeling 100%, so that might have contributed to his mood. So, we grabbed FPs for RNR and jumped in line for Tower of Terror. Now, what saved me was that when we were in DHS in December, we waited in line for TOT for over an hour. So our 20 minute wait this morning was manageable. It was a great ride. Next, I insisted that we ride Star Tours because it would be closing for it's super refurb and I wanted to ride the old version one last time. Joe was agreeable to that.
We made it to Endor for the last time...and now it was time for our early ADR at the Sci-Fi Dine-In. Read about it here...
After lunch, we headed towards RNR. Our timing was perfect for the Beauty and the Beast show (which we had never been to before!) so we opted for some entertainment. Another happy ending...
Next stop...RNR with fast passes...Mr. Grumpy feels bad about being so grumpy...
All is forgiven, and we enjoy our limo ride...
And that was enough for one day...this isn't our favorite park. We like TOT, RNR, and Toy Story. So we left.
Back at the resort for some down time...a happier Mr. Grumpy...
After some quiet time (I napped ) we headed back to Oveido to have dinner with my mom one more time. A nice, inexpensive meal at Applebee's and we called it a day...Please lord, let tomorrow be happier!!
Coming up...our last day at Disney means a trip to the Magic Kingdom...
Our last park day means the Magic Kingdom. We took our time this morning and decided to ride the ferry boat. Here are a few view shots...Cinderella's Castle...
Grand Floridian...
The other ferry...
The Contemporary...
Heading into the dock...
A quiet ride with beautiful views has put me in a great mood today...
First stop...FPs for Space Mountain. Then it's time to battle Zurg!
A calm and relaxing ride on the People Mover...
We took our ride on Space Mountain...always fun! Time to head to the other side of the park...Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean...then it was time to head out for our late lunch at the Grand Floridian. We grabbed Big Thunder fast passes and hopped on the train...
We decided to ride a launch over to the GF, since we'd never done that before...this trip really had a lot of firsts for a couple of WDW veterans!!
Our destination...Afternoon Tea. What a wonderful lunch!
We were able to listen while we ate...
After tea, we wandered around the lobby for a few minutes. I always love the beautiful fresh flowers in the GF's lobby...
Time for our monorail ride of the trip...
A couple of shots of us together...
We rode Big Thunder...one of my favorites. Time for our last ride...we grabbed FPs for Splash Mountain (one of Joe's favorites)...in line for a 30 minute wait...got a little wet, so jumped on using our FPs for a second ride...where I got drenched! A great way to end our day in the MK!
After a little break and a change of clothes, we decided to take the boat down the river to Downtown Disney (another first!)...sailing past POFQ...
Dusk was settling in as DTD came into view...
The Cirque theater...it's a great show...
"Characters in Flight", the balloon ride was running...the air was very calm...
Once we arrived, we did some shopping...pins, Christmas ornaments, and a couple of small things for DD from World of Disney. Then it was time for dinner at Raglan Road. You can read about it here.
After dinner, we strolled back to the boat dock. We stopped to listen to this fun group...I wrote down their name, but can't find it anywhere. They were fun...
Then came the worst line of the entire vacation...waiting for the boat back to POFQ. It was crowded and hot. We made it back in time for a good night's sleep since we had to get up early in the morning.
It must be sad that it's over. But the good thing for me is that mine is still coming!!! Only 2 months to go now.
I emailed you my itinerary for you to peruse for me! lol
Hopefully you get the email. Let me know if you don't
It's been over a month...sorry. This is the final installment...
We drove to Gatlinburg, Tennessee on Friday...got in very late. On Saturday, we spent some time in the Smoky Mountains National Park...majestic is a good word...
A couple of photos...
One of my favorite shots...
Sunday, I put Joe on a plane back to Texas, and headed home to an empty house...
We really had a very good time, just the two of us. I'm looking forward to going again...I hope to convince him that the Food & Wine Festival would be perfect for "Eating and Drinking around the World: the sequel"...
I saw this sign on a construction wall and it pretty much sums it all up...
