.

Going to Florida at the back end of October at the end of thunderstorm season. . Yes? Coming home at the start of November.

Generally, Do flights go on time (Back to the UK) ? Im booking domestic flights from Manchester to home as we get in at 7am from Orlando so I don't know how many hours I should leave between flights incase of any delays.

Help ?

We have done the same a few times, flying domestic from MAN to EDI. As we always landed on our return on a Sunday, the choice of flights was not that great with BMI - we had the option of one early in the morning which was a bit too close for comfort in case we landed late, and then another one at 5 pm or somewhere thereabout. I think GLA has slightly more choices so you need to check the various airports in terms of times.

In 2009 they changed the BMI flight for our return and bumped it up to 1 pm, instead of 5 pm. I found this out by chance at the airport on my way to see if I could book a hotel room for the day  I only mention this as it is a good idea to be alert to changes that could have taken place while you were away. It was great though as we got back hours earlier than we expected.

There were no thunderstorms at all last October. Not really t/s season, although there is nothing ruling out the possibility.

We have had small delays on take off from gatwick buy always seem to make the time up so never arrive late!

All good good good =). Flybe only goes up to October so I can't look yet.

But thank you all =)

Are you still looking at domestic flights? Have you looked at BMI? I found the best prices with them every year and their flights for October were out a while back. What you do have to watch if you want to bring back souvenirs is that they have a similar luggage allowance (piece and weight) to your transatlantic flight. Paying extra for luggage can negate any small savings.

We are flying Flybe because they are the carrier to us in Orkney so its easier for connecting flights (Baggage wise).

Yeah thank you for the advice, Gonna be scared coming back. . . Weight wise haha.

I forgot you were in Orkney - thought you were in the Highlands, but you had actually mentioned it before ..... I forgot! :upsidedow
