I loved the Castle when they did that. I also got a kick when they toilet papered the castle to celebrate Stitch.

I have pictures of the 25th anniv. in my photo album listed below.

HEY!!! Do you have pictures of the toilet paper castle!!! That sounds funny and I've never heard that they did that!!!

For the record . . . I like the cake castle!! I never saw it in person, but I think it was "cute"!! My sister was on her honeymoon during the cake castle, too; also her first time to WDW. I never asked her if she was disappointed?!?

THE CASTLE PLANNED FOR MAY (AND BEYOND) looks BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait to see it. :cloud9:

At first I liked the birthday cake castle, but then after a while ... Ugh. It was bright pink, c'mon!!!

Edit :: After looking at the pictures in the link posted above, just wow. :earseek: That looks to be even more beautiful than the castle is regularly! Whoever gets married throughout the time of the castle looking like that are lucky, lucky people! I'm happy my dad wants to go back down to Florida to visit my aunt and uncle in 2006 because of course there will be a necessary stop in the World! :earboy2:

We loved the Birthday Cake Castle. We have numerous pictures in front of Cinderella's Castle and the ones from the 25th Anniversary are so cute and add something to our special memories.

I thought it was really cool that they COULD do something like that to the castle. Now, SHOULD they have done it...that's another queestion. I didn't hate it, didn't love it. But like many others on here, we had been many times before and after, so we weren't that upset about it. My Dad was disappointed, since that was his first trip. We finally got him back down last month and the proper castle was the first thing he commented on when we went to MK.

PS I do think the overlay for the new celebration looks awesome. It doesn't make the castle look tacky (or worse, hide it altogether). I'm interested to see how the "stained glass" images of all of the Disney castles looks.

Ohhhh, it looks so pretty!! :earseek: I hope that it is all ready when we go at the end of April and I don't have to look at that beautiful castle surrounded by scaffolding. Thanks for sharing the link.

We were there when the castle was decorated like a birthday cake in '97 and it was pretty and colorful. I still love the castle the original way too though!

I really liked the cake too! I thought that it was something completely different and really added to the birthday party atmosphere.

I can't wait to see this year's castle!

Hi, I am new here! My family goes to Disney twice a year and this year we bought the seasonal passso hoping to go more often. Our next trip is Jan 24-28.... The castle won't be visible??? What about the fireworks and stuff..the ambiance of the castle changing colors and such??? OMG I am SOOOOO sad :guilty:

The castle is visible. If you look at my pictures in the Epson link below under Cinderella castle you will see the walls are around the hub not doing anything to castle.

Ohhhh thank goodness!! Do you know by any chance the height restriction on Stitch??
I wanted to finally do a professional picture in front of the castle too can we do that, probably not....

Height requirement is 35 inches. You may still be able to get a photo in front of the castle.

AHHH Great both of my girls can go on it!! We are so excited! Also this is the first time for us going to the other parks, we have been tho Magic a hundred times but never the other parks! This is going to be a great trip. We are also doing Storybook Breakfast with the princesses in Epcot.

Can't wait!

I thought it was fun too. I even bought the Ian Frazer statue figurine of the pink castle. It sits next to the regular one to remind me of both times. I'm hoping he does another one of the castle during this celebration to add to my collection! I loved it, but again I go often and have see the castle many times. It would have been sad for someone going their first time or (gulp) one and only time and seeing a pink castle.

I have that statue, too! I liked the castle cake, but probably wouldn't have it they'd decided that was a permanent change. It was cool for the 25th. DD12's first trip was when they started painting it pink!

Does anyone have a photo of the Birthday Cake Castle they could post?

I missed it and would love to see it. The 50 yr Castle looks great!
