25th Anniv, DxDp, Lots of Pics, PixieDust, New 11/7 The End

It is a beautiful day here today & I have it off for a nice long weekend:banana: I did some cleaning this morning & had a doctors appointment & now have some time to post about our last day :sad1:
We had an early ADR at Captains Grill for 7:30. Captains Grill was right next door at the Yacht Club so it did not take us long to get there. I did not take any pics there but we had the buffet. It was very good. I said to DH "I think I will have some coffee. It will be the first coffee I have had all week. His response was " Uh no it wont be the first time-you had some yesterday at Kona thinking it would help keep you awake". Well it didn't & I don't know how it tasted but the coffee at Captains Grill was ok. Our plan for the morning was to go to Epcot. What a beautiful day is was...

After our stroll I wanted to head back to the Beach Club for a little lunch at Beaches & Cream:woohoo: I did not want to eat a lot as we had a very special ADR for our "Last Supper" but wanted to try Beaches & Cream

Coming up:

Our last Disney evening & one of the BEST meals ever!!!

That is the best picture of the tron Monorail that I have seen yet:worship:

Great Update Doreen !!I love the Topiaries !!! I have made it for The Flowers twice and I love that time of year !!

Sounds like a lovely morning! I saw a Mickey ears ornament that I really liked, but was having a hard time figuring out how I'd get it home without breaking it. And judging by the way I had to stuff my bags full to get everything home, I made the right choice!

I :lovestruc the Flower & Garden Festival!!

Can't wait to hear about the best meal ever! popcorn::

What a gorgeous morning at Epcot! Love all the Flower and Garden pictures! Lunch at Beaches and Cream looks delicious!!!

Who knows when Doreen will be back....
I'll answer your questions though, I hope you don't mind Doreen!
I would ask for the birthday button when you get there. Many people celebrate all week, as for the anniversary button, when we went for our anniversary, we wore our buttons, we were wished happy anniversary by cast members where ever we went! There were no other perks though as far as we experienced to having the pins.
If you want the pin, just ask for it, I'm sure you can still get it.

When you book your ADRs and rooms you should be asked what you are celebrating, if you tell them your birthday or anniversary they will have the pins waiting.

As for TOT, I say ride it! It's a blast! I love the coasters too though...

Thanks for the advice from both of you! I'm going to try really hard to do the TOT - I'll get in line anyway and see what happens. I don't know about EE though, it looks so rough! lol

We are staying at the pop century resort. I've made lots of ADR's and got everything that I wanted. I've got the Rose and Crown Pub for New years eve just after ten pm and hoping to get a spot on the patio for illuminations that are to start at 11:45 pm and I've ordered a birthday cake for DH to come out then since it's his b-day Jan. 1st.
We've also got Le Cellier for a late lunch on New Years eve.
And, we're really excited to do Cinerella's Castle one night for dinner. I've also got prime time and Sci fi and the plaza!
I just can't wait. It's coming quickly now. My eldest son son just got married on Sept. 25th so now this is the next big event to look forward to!!

Have a great day everyone!

Debbie

I really love that time of year also. I am always amazed by the topiaries. I wish I had some in my yard!!

I know what you mean about trying to bring everything home. I barely had enough room in our suitcases & carry on::eek:

I love going that time of year:lovestruc I would like to go in Oct some year though.

What a gorgeous morning at Epcot! Love all the Flower and Garden pictures! Lunch at Beaches and Cream looks delicious!!!

Yeah even though I cannot remember what I ate:rotfl: I think it was just an appetizer because I wanted to save room for our ADR that night.

Thanks for the advice from both of you! I'm going to try really hard to do the TOT - I'll get in line anyway and see what happens. I don't know about EE though, it looks so rough! lol

Sounds like you will be eating very well:goodvibes Your plans for New Years Eve sound great!! I love Illuminations!! We have always enjoyed the Plaza. Congrats on your sons marriage!! I am sure you will have a great trip!!

Yes once again I have abandoned my TR for a month but to make a long story short I have been sick off & on for a month now. I am on my second antibiotic & hopefully on the mend..Anyway lets keep going. I only a little bit to go..
After having lunch at Beaches & Cream we went back to the room & I changed & went to the pool. I knew it was my last time there so I spent a good 2 1/2 hours there. Then went back up to the room, showered & dressed for our ADR at Narcoosees. Our ADR was for 5:30. We checked in right around that time but we waited for about 15 minutes. Then we were seated. They had confetti on the table & we got a menu with our names on it that said Happy Anniversary

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip774.jpg

I did not realize they did this & it was a very nice surprise. I ordered a glass of wine & my DH ordered a Blue Moon beer. I got the romaine Salad for app. & DH got the cheese plate. I got the lobster for the main course & DH got the Surf N Turf. Everything was so good. There is a lot of time in between courses & it was close to a 2 hour meal-FYI but it was so worth it. It was the BEST meal of the week. This was our dessert

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip778.jpg

Our waitress took a pic of us & it is the one I chose to put on the cover of our photo album:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip777.jpg

If anyone is on the dining plan I & have not tried Narcoossees & would like to I would highly recommend it. I have heard some people say the lobster was chewy & this & that but I thought it was very good. Maybe because I had not had lobster in a while but my DH thought it was very good also. We really enjoyed our meal there but if we had not been on the dining plan it would have cost almost $200.00 with tip:scared1: but definitely worth the dining credits.:thumbsup2

After dinner I wanted to go check out the Wilderness Lodge as we have never been there so we took the monorail to MK & then took a bus to WL. What a beautiful resort

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip785.jpg

I would love to stay there someday. We looked around the gift shop & I bought a few things for my MIL. We then took the boat back to MK so we could end our vacation with Wishes

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip787.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip803.jpg

After Wishes we headed back to Beach Club so we could pack!! I had not done too much packing & we had to catch ME about 7:00 am the next morning. It is much more fun unpacking then it is trying to pack everything up & trying to fit everything in. I did it though between my carry on, DH carry on & our suitcases. At first I thought I may have to ship a box (or two) home but got it all in. It took me over 2 hours to pack everything up:scared1: then off to sleep on our last night in Beach Club beds:sad1:

Continued in next post:

The next morning we caught the ME bus & back to the airport for our 10:20 am flight home. It was an uneventful flight home. Our car was waiting for us when we landed & we were back home in NH by 4:00. I was very anxious to see my boys & when the car pulled into the driveway they came right out to greet us. I gave them big hugs & then handed them my luggage to bring into the house:) They got a kick out of my "sleep walking morning" & I was very proud of them in how they took care of themselves & the cat & house while we were gone.
It was a different but great trip without them but I am looking forward to our next trip in a little over 6 months. I love traveling with all my "boys". I love the family time we spend together. It is always a great time of family bonding & great laughs & fun times spent together. Anywho.. here are the souvies I came home with:rolleyes1

Some bags & soaps for the girls at work:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip825.jpg

Some coasters (also bought a set for myself), wind chime & Minnie Mouse for my BFF:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip826.jpg

Some pins to use at work on my bulletin boards at work & Mickey Treats:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip827.jpg

Grumpy mug for DH & the other two are Mine Mine Mine
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip828.jpg

In the back is a candle holder that I had on my patio table all summer, an ornament, some magnets & FOTLK CD
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip820.jpg

Mothers Day Gifts for MIL. A frame, pen, magnet & tea:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip821.jpg

Shirt, Photo Album & scarf:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip822.jpg

T shirts & ornament & green blouse (also got a pink one):rolleyes1
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip823.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip824.jpg

I also got a beach towel that has Mickey lying in a hammock & it is double the size of a normal beach towel. I thought I took a pic of it but I guess not.

So now you see why it took me so long to pack!!:rotfl: I did shop more on this trip because I had the time & no kids to stop me. We had a great trip & made some great memories. I enjoyed reliving it & hope you all enjoyed it too.
Thanks for reading along on my first TR.
Now I am getting ready to make ADR's on the 23rd of THIS month for our next trip in May.:woohoo:

Thanks everyone.

So many cool treasures that you brought home!

Seems like a very nice meal and evening to end a trip. I know you guys had fun together. I like all kinds of trips - trips with the whole bunch and trips just with the girls - and one of these days I want to whisk Jill away for a long weekend trip with nobody else. I'd like to see her do what she wants to do, be able to get off and on buses with no strollers, and eat her food while it is still hot. Oh, and get as much uninterrupted sleep and shower time as she wants. :thumbsup2

You got a great picture of the Tron monorail. Every time I have seen it, I haven't been ready to shoot, and by the time I get set, it's gone.

Very much enjoyed the report, and will be happy to follow along on many more to come. :cool1:

Great report Doreen! Beautiful pictures- I love the ones from EPCOT. Looks like you had a fantastic last day: EPCOT, Beaches and Cream, Stormalong Bay, Narcooses (yum), a tour of the Wilderness Lodge and a spectacular fireworks finale. Not a bad way to cap off 25 years! Congratulations!

Good to hear that you enjoyed the lobstah! I would trust the opinion of a fellow New Englander!

Oh, I love the colors in the Pooh-Tigger t-shirt. Funny, I posted a picture of this t-shirt (the white version) in my TR this week. I consider buying it on every trip to AK, but we just do not do much shopping. I might reconsider if I see the one you got!

How exciting that you are going back soon! I can't remember if you posted where you will be staying.

Just finished reading Doreen! You brought back some great souvies!
We have yet to eat at Narcoosee's I'm not sure if it's the prices or what that has kept us away.
I think we need to give them a try now that you and some other's have said they are good!

What are your dates again for May? Will we overlap at all?

I know what you mean. With little ones you have to go with their schedule. It would be great for the two of you to have Mom & daughter time:thumbsup2 We never went when the kids were really little. Our first trip was in 1999 & the boys were 6 & 10 & they were troopers. Went from 8:00 till 11:00 every day for 9 days & never complained. We never knew at that point if we would get back there so we tried to fit everything in that trip:)

Yeah we had a wonderful last day. Better than my Wed. morning:rolleyes1 I am not very fussy when it comes to food at Disney. To me it is all wonderful.
I have looked at the Pooh-Tigger shirt for a couple of years now so I finally decided to buy it.

We are spending our first night at Universal on 5/22. We are leaving Boston at 6:30 am:scared1: & will be arriving around 9:20 in Orlando, spending Sun & Mon at Universal then taking a taxi to POFQ. That is our favorite Moderate & my 2 DS's & DH love it there. We will be there until Sunday 5/29. It is my DS's college graduation trip.

Just finished reading Doreen! You brought back some great souvies!

You have not tried Narcooses's??? I think you would enjoy it. Not sure if we will ever get back there. Hopefully someday.

Are you going in May. We are going 5/22 (Universal-Hard Rock Hotel) for one night then 5/23-5/29 at POFQ I think. We can get 35% off at Beach Club:rolleyes1 & only 15 % off at POFQ but I think it will be POFQ because it will still be a lot cheaper than Beach Club. With Universal in this trip it will be more costly & transportation from airport & then to POFQ will cost also.
When are you going???

We don't get there until the 29th. Looks like we just miss each other. Darn!

Hope you continue to feel better, Doreen!

Lovely meal at Narcoosee's!

Great souvenirs! Bringing home Disney fun is always nice! :thumbsup2

Your anniversary dinner looks like it was great! We've never eaten at Narcoosee's.

How exciting that you are planning another trip!! Will you write a PTR? Please? :flower3: Or at least share some of our plans before closing out this TR? :confused3

Glad to hear you are feeling better! :goodvibes

Awesome ending Doreen !!! I possibly may go in May with the Developmentally disabled !! Carol and I are looking at 2 trips next year one to Disney and 1 other !!It really depends on which other we pick when we go to Disney!!Carol wants to go May and Sept/ Oct !For me Oct works better in 2011 so it will depend what other October trips we can do or it will be Disney!!
