Can you purchase 25 points direct at a resort that do not own at?

Yes as long as it's at one of the resorts that allow a 25 pt add on (basically not Copper Creek and I'm not sure about Riviera), you title it the same and match your UY..... must be a true "add-on" to an existing membership. Home resort does not have to match.

Ok, I was thinking that I couldn't. I have changed my mind about adding on another 25 points. I am going to go ahead and get another 25-35 points to boost our ownership to a monster size of 65-75 points total and that will be right where we need to be. Probably within the next 12 months or so. I own 40 resale points at OKW and was thinking of adding 25-35 direct at VB or 25-35 resale at somewhere else. I know the best deals are to be had at the end of the year so I will just keep my eyes open for what might come open.

Got a September use year and would like to keep that with the additional contract if possible. Disney could match that up if I went direct, but if I went re-sale somewhere, I would be OK with August or October use year too.

Newbie here so want to make sure I understand. I purchased at GF. Can I purchase 25 points direct from Disney to add to that or can I purchase 25 at another?

Can I say still bank and borrow those 25? Thanks in advance!

Yes to GF (but there's a good chance they won't have availability) and yes to other DVC resorts (again, pending availability - some resorts have better availability). Yes to banking/borrowing.

A guide could tell you what resorts are available and how quickly.

Thank you for the information! So much to learn!

Buy VB only if you want to stay there dues are high and expire in 2042, or unless you only plan on owning the points for a few years. Otherwise it’s cheaper just to buy points at SSR, the most economical resort for now. The new refurbishment will Be bringing a Murphy bed couch instead of the sleeper sofa.

Remember, if you purchase points at a different resort than you currently own, you will only be able to combine them with your current points at seven months out. You'll be able to use those new points at their home resort at 11 months out.

Current direct rules are 25 minimum to add on, 50 minimum to finance, 75 minimum for direct benefits.

Right, I will have intent on using them at 7 months out, unless I buy a resale at OKW. It won't be until the end of the year most likely so I have plenty of time to decided. Might try to get a 35 point contract for a total of 75 points.

I just went in and book a couple nights at HH for me and some family members for this November. So ya, I do need to get a few more points.

Agreed. The VB dues are high enough to negate any $/point savings, unless looking very short term (but short term holding after buying direct is another good way to lose $$$). OKW and/or SSR are better direct purchases for 'sleeping around'.

If one was lucky to find a VB subsidized contract that deal is not too bad, but I don’t think there are many of those and probably no 25 point ones.

Might look for a HH one, since we really like to go there too.
