This is REALLY awesome news, Bob - it ought to help a LOT of upset members. Thanks for sharing!!! My 160 points are probably still enough for me @ BLT; what I really want is 40 @ VGC. BUT, at least it shows DVC is listening to members to some extent.

If anyone really wants a small BLT contract (less than 100 points): Buy 2- 50 point contracts. Total is 100 points. Keep all incentives (Developer points or cruise), Put 1 of your 50 point contracts up for sale through TTS. Now you will have to pay about a 10% fee to TTS, but the incentives you get to keep should still keep you ahead. I would think a 50 point BLT contract on the resale market should sell for Disney's full asking price of $112. Just a thought.

That is what I am planning to do with VGC on March 25th if they won't sell me a 40 point contract on it's own. I probably won't do it @ BLT because by my math: $112 - $5 = $107 per point; 50 points * $107 = $5350. Sell @ $112 = $5600. Commission = $560; ROFR fee = $20. So, $5600 - $580 = $5020, or a LOSS of $330 on each contract. But since I want to keep a 50 pointer at VGC, $330 to get a cruise is a pretty sweet deal.

Guide just called me back, he has not heard of anything about the 25pts. contract and can't do anything for me. But he did honor my 50pt since i requested yesterday on it,

Congratulations! Just a question--is this your first set of points at BLT, or do you already own BLT points and this is an additional contract.

My guide told me that I could not split my 100 pt contract, but if they are letting you buy in at 50 pts (and you are not one of those original owners), then I have some additional inquiring to do with my guide!

I added on 50 back in Jan. I called yesterday wanting to add another 50, but he told me i couldn't and that he'll check. Then this thread came along, so i called this afternoon and want to add 25 instead. He called me back and said have not heard of any 25pt add on, but will allow me to add additional 50 since i've requested and the excuse with the 2010 point change thing. Also, i was told ( at least try to convince me) that i could add another 100 and will allow me to split them into 2 x 50. But don't know how true since i'm still considering.

Thank you! My add on last week was my 1st one for BLT--that is probably why I could not get it broken up. I was able to get them to allow me (because I had not yet "closed") 12 additional points to my 100 point contract today since I realized that I calculated wrong when I added on just the 100!

Guides can sometimes be not totally clear on exactly how the latest/newest thing "works" & there has even been 'delays' so to speak in some of them learning information...If you purchased at BLT before Jan. 23 - 25 unveiling of 2010 chart then imho I don't see why you'd be prevented from purchasing 25 pt add-on and even if you purchased thereabouts or after don't just take it on his word that you can't do it - as it is he is telling you this afternoon that he hasn't heard of any 25 pt add-on but WilsonFlyer & other posters here have in fact been told otherwise. Doesn't sound like he's caught up on things, question it even if it means getting a supervisor on the line. It doesn't hurt to ask and ask some more if need be ( remember what was going on when DPs for BLT purchases came along ? )

If only all DVC guides spoke the same "language" at the same time !!!

I am anxious to see how this turns out. It seems like many Guides are giving conflicting answers, which is not unheard of, and the information posted here is more up to date as usual. (We would have never even known about the DP unless we had read it here. Ya'll are awesome!) We would be interested in a 25 point add on, but we really do not need any more than that - an additional 100 points would be way too much for us right now.

So you're telling us that your guide, out of the goodness of his or her fuzzy wuzzy little ole heart; decided to let you have 50 points as a concellation prize but wouldn't/couldn't sell you 25 when EITHER would supposedly supercede DVC policies firmly in place? C'mon man. You gotta be kidding me. These guys can't get a cup of coffee without a manager's approval.

It's for anybody, although I usually don't recommend that people just get 25 pts a different home resort - even with banking and borrowing you will only get up to a 75pt stay with an 11 month booking window.

It wasn't out of goodness of his heart. I actually called that morning before this thread about wanting to add additional 50pt (totalling 100- hopefully still get the 100pt incentives that was offered -$5 off and 3 night cruise) not knowing about this new 25pt deal. As i mentioned, he did go over my paper work and closing date and stuff then told me that he would have to check with management. I'm not sure if he was going over my original add on date or something. But told me he would have to check and get back to me. Then found out about this thread that same night. So next morning, i had left a vm to him about this 25pt deal. He called me back late afternoon and before he had a chance to talk, i brought up about this. That's when he had said he knew nothing of it. Then after, he told me that management will allow me to add another 50pt at full price- no discount or incentives- nothing. I insisted on the 25pt deal- since i wasn't getting a free cruise anyway- didn't need the entire 100, but he said he has not heard any info and can't do anything about that- at least yet.
Hopefully someone else has other info or something. I have yet get back to him since i've decided to just wait it out and see what other options are out there.

Our guide replied to my email and after a meeting with her manager has said we can purchase 25 points add-on at BLT

I HOPE it was OK for your Guide to communicate this information via email. Even with the names removed, it's pretty simple to check server logs for the text you quoted. If DVC is watching, I'm sure they know exactly who sent this message by now.
