25% discount for 12/20/03

Does anybody know if DVC allows DVC member discount on the Sat before Christmas at any of the 4 DVC resorts? I'm thinking that the resort is usually full that a discount will not be available.

Usually the resorts are full, so, no, you could not get the DVC discount at Christmas. Oddly enough, however, CRO had DVC rooms that it discounted for the paying public that was about 40% lower, with maid service I paid $225 + tax thru CRO for a one bedroom that I could not get a DVC discount for at BWV last year. Now, what was up with that?

A reservation with points or member discount comes from member room inventory. A reservation with CRO comes from non-member room inventory. Non-member inventory are rooms that DVD owns or from members who trade out. So it's very possible that the member rooms have sold out but there are still non-member rooms available.

So can MS make a cash ressie for a non-member inventory room? I was trying to get a room at HH for Easter. MS told me it was completely sold out, whether I wanted to use points or cash, but I can find a 1-bdrm available on Expedia, but they want $325 per night for it.

No. They can only give you the member cash discount if available. They will sometimes "match" any other discount you may have from another source (like AP) using the member inventory rooms.

Rooms that come up on Expedia at busy times are not always "real". They show on the search but when you go to book them, they disappear. I had this problem one year looking for a NYE room.

I'd rather pay 40% off than 25% off.

I can't decide whether to stay put at our 1Br at OKW ressie for Christmas. It is less points and more room. I really like staying at either BWV or BCV. I'm afraid it may be booked by the 7 month window.

I'm trying to save points so we may go again within our use year.

How did you get 40% off? Were you still able to use points for the other nights and NOT move rooms. Is there a toll free number for CRO? Please share it with me.

I'm a newbie.... and I'm CONFUSED?!?!?!? Could some one help me understand this please? I booked a ressie for mid January 2004 with member services . I didn't want to use my weekend points, so I only booked BCV for Sun-Thurs. I still need the weekend ( Fri. & Sat.) before and after at a regular resort- want to stay at WL and AKL. Will MS book that for me with a discount??

The 25% member discount is only for DVC resorts. You can try to get an AP or Code discount through CRO when the time gets closer, they are sometimes up to 40% off. Check mousesavers.com, right now there are only discounts through 7/3/03. The only toll free # to CRO is through Disney Club. Otherwise, dial 407-W-DISNEY.
