25-40% Off Resorts Offer Misleading?

On the WDW site they have discount offers for WDW hotels ranging from 25% for Value to 40% for Deluxe resorts...

When I selected various dates on the site to get quotes for possible vacation dates I did get discounted prices, but not at the rates they advertised.

I contacted Disney for an explanation. I'm not sure if there were rules that I missed or something like that. I know rooms are limited, etc., but I've tried several dates and resorts and never saw the full advertised discount price...

Does anyone have any information on this?

Thanks in advance!

The part about "most nights" is especially note-worthy. Most means anything over 50%. Conceptually, it could mean every other night, so if you choose any four nights, it could be that only half of your trip is eligible. Hard to say for sure.

I saw these terms and conditions.

Like you said, the term "most nights" could mean almost anything...

But, from all the different dates I selected I noticed the same discounted room prices... They just weren't the advertised discount.

Any discount is a good one! I'd just like to see if the full discounts are available on days I may visit.

The only way to know, really, is to check on the beginning of the first day the promotion was announced, and to check every resort on every day. Tedious, to say the least (and too late, at this point). I dunno about you, but I rather trust Disney not to offer something and then not live up to the terms and conditions that they outlined, especially since the terms and conditions really give them so much flexibility. Most likely, I feel, they did offer the discounts they promised, for the amount of nights they said they'd offer them, during the periods they said they'd offer them.

Best of luck trying to find the best deal!

I'm just curious to see their explanation, since there is nothing really said about less discounts also... Although, the wording does leave room for it, etc.

I agree with you in that they may have set a certain amount of rooms aside for the full discount and they are now gone, etc.

I'm more curious about it now than anything...

Like I said, any deal is a good deal. I just hope I find something good for my dates.

I randomly picked 2/7-2/11:

All Star Music = $61.50 per night w/discount. Regular price = $82. 25% off.
Boardwalk Inn = $221 per night w/discount. Regular price = $340. 35% off.

Randomly picked 4/18-4/22:

All Star Music = $78.75 per night w/discount. Regular price = $105. 25% off.
CBR = $119 per night w/discount. Regular price = $170. 30% off.
Boardwalk Inn = $253.50 per night w/discount. Regular price = $390. 35% off.
OKW = $198 per night w/discount. Regular price = $330. 40% off.

All are for standard rooms, before tax.

What dates & resort were you looking at?

I'm just curious to see their explanation,
I suspect the most we'd ever get is a very polite "thank you for your interest" message.

That, but also keep in mind that if you have a discount on one day and no discount on the next day, it may look like you get half-discount on both days, knowwhatImean?

I did notice that some resorts already had no availability or only availability of the pricier rooms (even *without* trying to get a discount, the Contemporary was completely full for my dates). But it definitely did seem to be the advertised discount off the regular price for that type of rooms.

I must have had the wrong prices for the wrong dates!

After going back and looking at it now I've been getting the full discounts!

I must have overlooked something along the line.

Thanks for all your help and setting me straight!

Can someone show me where to enter the discount on the Disney websit to get the discount. I can not figure it out.

for those that show everything booked...check back in a week. The new discount came out on 1/1, you can hold the room for 7 days before you have to put deposit down. It use to be 2 weeks....not sure when it changed.

Anyways, I'm sure a lot people booked to see what they have and more will open up come 1/8 or 1/9...I've seen it happen before and am hoping it happens for us. We are booked at BWV, but want to try BCV.

Keep on checking...

I randomly called off and on for two discounted rooms and managed to finally get reservations with the 40% discount about 4 weeks ago. I think a lot depends on the conversation with the WDW and what was available at the moment. I was really surprised, because I didn't think I would get a place with the discount.
